I've been reading posts regarding this regulator. I just want to double check a few things before I order it and wind up with the wrong parts. I plan on buying an HRC Stage 2 and replacing the cartech regulator with the SFMU. I also plan on getting the 5 psi wastegate spring to start off with and to learn how to tune the kit.
1) If I run at this psi, I should run the 2.72 disk with hard/colored spring correct?
2) Also, I have seen some postings about also purchasing a bleed valve for this regulator from vortech but only if running 9 psi. Do I need this bleed valve for 5 psi also?
3) Fuel Pressures at 5 psi. I own the Mitsubishi Motors shop manual. Should I set the fuel pressures according to the 4G63 Turbo settings (vacuum disconnected = 42-45 and vacuum connected = 33) or to the 420A non turbo settings which are 47-50 psi?

Yes, that will work good for 5 psi > >2) Also, I have seen some postings about also purchasing a >bleed valve for this regulator from vortech but only if >running 9 psi. Do I need this bleed valve for 5 psi also?
Its never a bad idea to use the bleed valve. You can fine tune your rise rate better with this, and if you are rich under boost, just turn out the bleed valve to lean it out. Very helpful. The bleed valve on the HRC regulator is the SAME one as the vortech one,it will fit perfectly. > >3) Fuel Pressures at 5 psi. I own the Mitsubishi Motors >shop manual. Idle fuel pressure on stock injectors should be around that 47-55 psi, at idle vacum (around 15-19 hg's) At 0 psi, fuel should be at 60 psi(static fuel pressure). At 5 psi boost, you should see around 80-90 psi of fuel pressure. Be sure to have an A/F gauge and egt gauge to monitor how the motor is responding. >

the hahn kit comes with a an4 fitting for the fuel rail, thats about it. So either way, you will need some more fittings to make it all work. I just got soem an6 fittings to fit some fuel hose to hook my SFMU up..then retained the an4 hose for the fuel rail hookup
