how do you turbo guys out there get away with the emission laws when they are not carb ex. (aftermaket turbo's) could some one shine some light?

98 rs,HRC stage 1,,custom interior, painting, 17 inch konig imagine rims , install, powerstop rotors,Pro 1 exhaust,tokiko 5 way adj.

depends where you live, if your tuned to spec, and they dont look under the hood, you'll be fine.. if they know its got an aftermarket turbo and the kit doesnt have a carb sticker... then your gonna haveto take it off and retest.

yeah where i live they just look to see if you still have a cat.

the guy said it burns extremely clean..
she blow a 10 out of 76.
what does that tell you about turbos..heh

In all my previous emissions testing, they used to do the tail pipe sniffer which I always passed until recently. Now they use the CEL test. If you have no codes, you pass.

What is a CEL test? I always questioned if I would be able to pass emissions with a turbo kit. This is the only problem keeping me from purchasing a hahn stage 2 turbo. I already take my car to a garage to get inspected instead of the DMV (because of a body kit, lowered car, and some illegal lighting) so I am not sure of the differences in the tests. Does a garage just do a sniffer test (in this case I am sure a properly configured turbo will pass) or a dyno test?

heheh i had a cel for the egr i had to sign a statement saying i knew the cel wes on...
they run it thru...

what state do you live in where they do a cel test?

you wont get a cel just from running hrc unless you tune wrong!

what gas did you burn a 10 out of 76 on? do they only test for one in your state? here(NY) they test for HC, CO, and NOx....not sure what the limits are though.

if your CEL is on then you could just take the bulb out
