This is a stupid question but I thought I'd get an answer from the experts and not just assume. When turning a non-turbo into a turbo what kind of cat-back do you get. For instance, I'm looking at the Greddy Evo but it comes with certain piping for a Non and bigger piping for a Turbo. Being that we weren't originally turbo do we stay under 2.25" tubing or go bigger to accomodate for the new turbo?

I think since i'm officially one of the turbo guys as of toda emoji I can take a shot at this question...I currently have a GReddy powertone exhaust and that will suffice for the time being but as soon as I get my funds back-up i'm going to install a 3" cat-back from either GReddy or thermal,it will have alot of effect on the turbos performance.

definitely a 3" exhaust is what i would recomend for a turbo. And a testpipe as well...
i got the the star downpipe...to a 3" testpipe, and a 3" thermal exhaust that i modified to get rid of the stupid reducer to bolt to the stock cat.

I'm looking at getting the HRC Stage 1 so I'm not looking at a ton of boost. My understanding was that our piping is exactly like piping for a GST with the only difference being the muffler and that a GST's exhaust was suitable for up to 200 hp. Now when I get my Stage 1 that'll put me between 210 and 225 but I don't want to lose any low end (you know the whole exhaust velocity thing). Basically what I'm asking is what Greddy exhuast would be good to get without sacrificing to much low end but accomodating for boost. I love the Evolution but I would imagine I should wait for the GST application.

Yeah, the Evolution is available only in N/A use and AWD use. If you wanna go big, get the Power Extreme series. Hefty price, but well worth it. I've had a chance to look at alot of exhausts up close, and in my opinion the Greddy is constructed superbly. The welds are pefect, the finish is in a class of its own, and the sound is like nothing else on the market. I get more compliments on the sound of my car more than anything else. Though, the Power Extreme series is a bit loud, but I love it. Its deep and smooth when cruising, but rumbly and growly when revved up. Its loud enough that it shakes things on Shaun's desk when I pull up behind his office. =o)

For now,

You are ok to stick with the stock exhaust and just get the GS-T muffler for now with Stage 1. Save your money and go for a proper turbo exhaust in the future instead of getting a NA exhaust. Try to go for something at least 2.5". I really like my Tanabe - 70mm - about 2.77" - which I think is a perfect size. It is pricey though.
