I have to say, this was perhaps one of the easiest mods i've ever done. 20 feet of 10 gauge wire, 1 spst 30A relay, some slide connectors, etc... Well worth it. The car seems "peppier" afterwards.

One thing, though. I've noticed that now, at WOT, i'm seeing scary low voltages from my O2 sensor.. like .82-.85 .. However, my EGTS stay fairly low, barely hitting 1400F on a hard 4th gear burn. Could it just be my O2 sensor getting old? I don't hear any abnormal noises, no pinging, no marbles-in-a-tin-can, but i'm seeing these lean readings. Should i worry ?

EGTs are for emergency reasons... Don't assume that your O2
sensor is going bad - ever! Richen it up first amd then diagnose
your O2 sensor (I have no real idea how, but someone else may
know). Our cars will run very nicely lean, and suddenly scorch a
piston ring.... Trust me.. mine made no "tell-tale" sounds at
all..

Good luck

I agree 100%. Regardless of what the EGT reading is you still should still never go beyond a safe turbo friendly A/F ratio. Some people tend to believe you can cont to lean as long as EGTs remain acceptable. Tuning should be done to or beyond a pretermined safe turbo A/F voltage unless your willing to experiment at the possible cost of your engine.

Umm.. That doesnt seem to make sense because when you detonate your EGT will go up significantly... Can you please explain how your EGT's stay low while you detonate ??

Thanks!

He said lean not detonating. He may not be lean or detonating throughout the rev range. If he were only detonating and or running lean the last 1000rpms or anywhere in between its possible to maintain acceptable EGTs while detonating and/or leaning somewhere across the rev range.

Guy is right. The o2 sensor isn't exactly useless. On my stealth, it is usu. ALWAYS right. Once i get below a certain voltage at high rpm's under high boost, I WILL get knock. it is guaranteed. But as long as those o2 voltages stay right, the knock sensor usu. doesn't throw up any red flags.

have fun!

My ECU had been reset when i pulled off the battery terminals, and that was the first time i ran it afterwards. My car must have been in limp mode or something, due to it relearning it's environment. Once i made my comute home from downtown, i was getting good mid-.9v readings again. I've also noticed that these readings are highly dependant on my throttle position, gear and RPM. It seems to me that when in a lower gear, in lower rpm if i take it into open loop, the ecu will lean it out to produce more power. if i'm higher in my rpm range, i get richer readings as the extra power isn't necessary because i'm not almost lugging my motor.

Thanx guys!
