Why spend all that money on an EBC when a MBC works just as well? I like the TurbosXS HP-MBC ($129 I think) and currently I'm using a Dejon Tools Dual stage MBC (less than $200 I think). Look at all the money you could save over a $600 AVC-R...

I have the Greddy Profec B.....It works great. I think it may be the best, simplest ebc on the market.

I agree with esseclipse. The AVCR is rediculesly overpriced and complicated. Go with the Profec B. It's been proven 0 boost creep.

profect b, hands down, simple, pretty accurate, and easy to install... match it up with a greddy turbo timer, and you're set...

have any of you used the HKS EVC EZ boost controller...... Everyone I know that has a an AWD has gone from the Greddy profec to an HKS EVC EZ.... Since you can run a hell of a lot more boost on the 4G63. you don't have to keep the same boost.... with the HKS it is super easy to adjust the boost..... you don't have to run low boost with an AWD when you start... it is suggested with front wheel..... the the apexi is the best once you learn how to use it cause it boosts up by your rpms

Who has experience with the Hallman MBC? I get to 10 psi, then afeter about 5000-5500 rpms, the boost fades to like 8.5 or so...I want to try another boost controller, the Greddy Profec B is what i want, but i dont know if my prob is boost controller related...no boost leaks that i know of...Any one else with a MBC have this prob?

From what I've seen, the Greddy Profec A or B works great, and is easier to use than other well known brands. The Apexi AVC-R is very versatile, if you have access to dyno tuning, and someone knowledgeable to help tune the darn thing. I personally like the Profec-B for its simplicity and the "button" to switch between low/high boost settings.

I sucessfully used a Joe P MBC for a couple years. I eventually stumbled across a free (but broken) Profec B. I rebuilt it and now LOVE it. Excellent boost control, easy cockpit adjustment, and 2 boost settings. SCC magazine recently did a comparo on electronic boost controllers. The Profec B performed very favorably in their tests. That just solidified what I already felt.

okay everyone complains about how the avcr is too expensive, i got mine for like 425 bucks new on some groupbuy a while ago. wit that said i would not go with any other boost controller. if you like to tweak with things like i do, and like all the data you can get then i would recommend the avcr. it really is not hard to tune, people who say it is have basically never tried to tune it. basically you set the boost target, which is in bar, and then you adjust the duty cycle until you stay below your target at WOT. then after a few runs it begins to self learn. which automatically adjusts your duty cycle to the best setting to maintain your preset boost limit. Also you can wire in a momentary scramble switch that raises or lowers your boost setting any amount for any amount of time. The best thing about the unit, in my opinion, is that the boost control solenoid is only like .75x1x2 inches. it is the smallest unit i have seen of all the electronic boost controllers those greddy ones are like a 4 or 5 inch square!
okay
hope it helps

What is wrong with the Hallman MBC? $50 dollars shipped to your door and it is there in 2 days. Rock steady boost. Save the other 300-600 dollars for real mods.
