I was (still am) having problems with the FPR having to warm up before it would give the proper fuel pressure. It would take 15 minutes or so of driving before my fuel pressure would drop down to what I set it at. Does your Vortech do that? Anyway, I thought if I moved the FPR closer to the engine, it would warm up faster. I had to drop the cruise control box down some to make the FPR fit. I attached the upper part of the box to the lower 2 bolt holes. The bottom of the box is not bolted to anything. It works fine though. I also had to remove and bend the cover of the cruise control box. I bent it 90 degrees and cut it square. Then I drilled two holes in it to bolt the FPR to. You can see some of that in the picture below. I stuck a pad to the underside of the hood, so the FPR wouldn't rattle against it. It is a very tight fit.
I don't think my Vortec requires itself to warm up. Then again I can't really lower my fuel pressure since I still have my stock regulator. I'll know for certain when I rip open my stock regulator.
My vortec is huge!! much huger than your BELL FPR. I moved my cruise control module down to the two lower bolt holes, but the diameter of the FPR is HUGE!!! It sticks so much up that I can't close the hood...so I really don't know where would be the best place to mount this sucker properly..
One question: Isn't the BELL FPR only adjusts rising rate fuel pressure? You can't adjust idle/static fuel pressure with it, correct?

The Bell FPR has an adjustment screw for static fuel pressure. Boost or vacuum will raise or lower fuel pressure from that point at whatever ratio you want. Could you please examine your fuel pressure after a cold start and see if the fuel pressure changes after a 15 minute drive or so. I want to know if a Vortech unit will give me the precision I want.
