ok i have my turbo kit in almost everything but the fum.thats the blue thing right?i have a 1999 rs with the star kit.please help me by telling me witch hoses go where i am going to mount it in the back .i no the vac line .but tthe bottome two go where also is ent thier a way to do it all back thier and not run a fuel line to the fuel rail?

i cannot believe you have gotten this far into an install of an actual kit and dont know what part the FMU is...i dont remember it being blue, even on the star kit, but take some pics of your install and what you have left and post them so we can walk you through the rest more easily.

Yes the blue thing is your fmu. You have to hook up a fuel in a fuel return and a vac. I have a 95 so mine was easy. I'm not sure if you have to run a return line or not but I think you do. Try to find posts from guy's with 96-99's and a star kit. I am pretty sure you have to run a return line yourself. I think you can set up everything in the back but the vac. source. The only problem is I'm not sure how to setup a return line in a car that doesn't have one stock. I hope this helps you a little bit atleast.

if anybody could expand on what he ^ was just talking about, i would really appreciate it. i have a 96 rs so i guess i will have to be running a fuel line through my car back to the gas tank. i was wondering how i am supposd to do that. i feel a little scared about just running standard rubber fuel line through my fire wall and through the side of the car under the carpeting or whatever just like the wireing i did for the damn stereo wires. tia

No I would not do that if it was me. I would mount the Fpr in the rear and run the vacume line back from the front. Wht I was trying to say is I don't know how to go about running a return line the proper way. I would mount the FPR in the rear as well.

There are three lines. 2 fuel and one vac. The vac line goes from the front to back and I ran mine under the car. I can't remember which is which for the fuel. Wyatt's site (www.turbogs.com) has some pics of that section. That's what I used.

Nobody runs a fuel line through the interior of the car. That would be a very foolish thing to do.

If the FPR or FMU is mounted in the front (engine bay), a fuel return line is ran from the engine bay down to beneath the car and then back to the fuel tank. A fuel line never sees the light of day in the passenger compartment.

ONe of you has a '96 and the other a '99. There is no need for either of you to run a return line. Get a vac source from the manifold and run it back to the fmu. Mount the fmu like wyatt's page shows. You should be able to use the hosing supplied plus the stock hosing to connect the fuel lines. They should all be around 1 foot long or less.
