Okay the filter that came with the kit is dead, I have an akimoto filter from my old intake, but it is too large in diameter, i was wondering what other people have done to replace this filter since the stock one has an offset inlet and there really ain't that much space there.
thanks

it is all tweaked out, because when it is in the space it is supposed to be it is all up against some connectors and that pushes into the wire mesh and guaze and messed it all up.

I would like to know this also. I bought my kit used, and the filter "accidently" got ran over after he removed the kit. I have my filter that is on my short-ram, but the diamter is 3". Could i just get custom pipe made and call it a day?

I was thinking of getting a new filter, somethign smaller and in a cone shape rather than the cylinder shape that Hahn provides.

James if you need a replacement filter bad, hit me up. I recently bought a backup HRC filter (new in package) from Armond and it is sitting in my room. Just give me a holler.

This is the filter off my cheap short ram. Think it would work ok if i had a custom pipe made?

Might have to copy/paste.

The main thing to consider with any of these filters is the inlet size. It is NOT 3" as are most aftermarket air filters, it is 2.5".

Heh, yeah, that is DEFINITELY not the one Ryan and I have that came with the kits (a K & N Filter). Ours has a black rubber backing (not shiney) that is all rubber and it only measures 2.5". I've just recently measured it since I want to buy a new one as well.

It might work with your kit, if you had a big enough mating point on the inlet pipe, and you clamp down enough.

However, as I said before, most of those aftermarket air filters are 3" whilst the inlet pipe on the HRC turbo is 2.5".

That is what i was asking... Can i use that filter to replace the one that came with the HRC kit? I know it would need custom piping.

it would have to be 3" piping. and then you would need a coupler that goes from 2.5-3" to connect to the turbo

I dont know where my pic went, but your right bout the size, the apexi is 3'' as well, but I made an adapter at home depot's plumbing department, and it works great. If I find the pic I will post it back to this thread.
