hey guys...i've posted a couple of times about my car- i just got a star stage 1 from wyatt hooked up to a starion intercooler... i've been having some problems and i really don't know what to do now... when i first got my car back from hocus pocus it would drive fine and the turbo felt great, but after 20/30 min of driving the car would die...we couldn't figure out what the problem was...the car would sputter, jerk, and then just kick out and we would have trouble starting it again... i talked to wyatt and he said it sounded like i was getting fuel cut, so i switched my vc1 from a 4.7v unit to a 4.5v unit... unfortunately, the car is still having problems and it keeps dying... originally we got map and tps sensor codes from the ecu...i replaced both sensors but still got the codes... now we're still seeing those codes, but not all the time... i've even tried driving the car without hitting boost and it does the same thing...we really can't figure this out... hocus ran an injector test and they say everything is running fine, but they still don't know what's up... fuel pressure builds instantly once i hit boost (only running 5 lbs.), and everything seems to be working properly, but the car is still being moody i asked if the car was pinging and they said no, everything seems to be ok- odd... right now i'm in NY...i'll be going back to houston in 2 weeks to pick up the car to drive back up here...i need help- no one can figure out what's up, and i need my car to preserve my sanity if anyone has any ideas or comments or anything please respond also, i was wondering about spark plugs- i'm running an ngk 7 but i'm not sure what they're gapped to- what should it be? thanks

I can alsmost guarantee that its's somthing related to one of two things. Two things would help though int figuring out what your problem is:
1. What are the exact error codes.
2. A mechanical fuel pressure guage would be awesome.
That way, I could better discern what the problem is.
Here, however is two possible sources of the problem. One, you have bad vacuum leak. Especially that vacuum line that runs back to the Vortech FPR. The second, somewhere the fuel system is improperly hooked up. Maybe the FPR was put in the wrong place. Maybe, they forgot the put the vacuum line connection in. I betcha it's something pretty obvious for someone who has installed one of these kits before.
One other little thing that comes to mind as well. With a lot of those fuel pump replacements, you could've had the ole nasty O-ring problem. That would cause a lot of your problems right there. Make sure you get that check that first. I can see a situation where it's all working well, then your O-ring seal was lost or your fuel pump bracket failed.
Has Hocus Pocus installed a STAR kit before?
Either way, don't pay them a damn thing till they figure it out. Get your car and make em sue you or negotiate to a much smaller amount.
