#29635, "Falling Flat on Your Face at WOT really sucks"

Okay I don't know what to make of this, or what you want to make of it! But here it goes:
(Those of you that have seen some of my earlier posts this month about my loading up of plugs, the problem is resolved)
After hearing the great results of the Missing Link check valve, and getting iritated of the VC-1 only working sometimes, I decided to buy a ML.
The first thousand miles or so were great, but now all boost except WOT is running okay, and only at WOT am i getting the hesitation. The feeling of pull choke, pull choke, but really fast like (I think that is ass backwards from what others were experiencing ((engineers can't spell sorry)))
Then I was remembering that I read on the package about cleaning that sucker out, so I pulled it out, and the thing is still as clean as the day I put it on (engineers also have no good grammar).
As a last resort I pulled my battery and reset the ECU. That fixed the problem for another 1000 miles or so. Now the problem just came back, so i will reset ECU in the morning.
Oh, did the Missing Link come with any other O-rngs to use? I asked this question before but either myself or the person who answered wasn't fully aware of the question/response (usually it is my bad). I left the ones that were on the MAP sensor on it, and just inserted that into the ML and then the ML sat on the intake manifold!

Well that is the problem I am looking at ATM, and if anyone has a suggestion, I am always willing to try something at least once!

You need to check your codes. (I'd bet you have possibly a code or two that is effecting things.)

Have you checked you spark plugs?

You might have fouled plugs or a fouled O2 sensor at the root of your problems.

Yes, def check you o2, and you may want to check your map sensor also. Get a voltmeter and test the voltage of the map with the key in the on positon with the engine off. Test right at the map sensor plug wires. You should get a voltage around 4.5 volts. If its not close to that, your map is bad.. Check to see if you have any codes on the ECU like mentioned by jason..

Well just checked all 4 plugs, they look really clean. Took my o2 sensor out of its socket and that thing is clean as a whistle. As for the codes, Auto Zone won't check it for me unless the CEL is on, and I havn't seen that thing since I changed the o2 sensor a month ago.
It quite possibly could be an ignition problem. I am gonna change my plug wires and see what comes of it.
Thanks for the responses guys. emoji

Were the spark plugs "clean" as in whitish colored or slightly carboned?

If they were carboned over slightly, that's a good thing (not BLACK). However, if the plugs were whitish/ashy, you're running lean. That's also not a good thing.

I take it your fuel pressure at high RPM's is good. As noted above, go ahead and check your MAP sensor voltage under boost or at idle. If it checks out, at least you can eliminate the MAP sensor and the ML as the source of the problem.

Sorry guys went on Vacation, and wasn't able to reply. My wife only let the laptop be used for DVD's in the car, no connecting to the Internet, she thought I might try and do some work or something.
My plugs have a slight white ashy look to them, the gap maybe off a bit. I am running the 7e-11 plugs with a .32 gap in em...
I am not really sure on how to check the map sensor voltage, expecially under boost. If you could gimme a url to a site that would be great.
I have been noticing the past couple of days that my a\f gauge goes from rich to lean and blinks from the one green to the one red under boost.
I do hear a new exhaust leak comming from under the hood!! This is where the downpipe connects to the turbo. I think i messed up when i torqed them things down last time and warped my downpipe flange. If anyone knows of something I can use as a gasket that won't blow every couple thousand miles, it would be worth me putting that on. I don't think normal exhaust gasket material will do well here because of the extreme heat there.
Thanks guys for all the help!

-Danny
