#29114, "Exhaust popping after installation of gutted cat/straight pipe?"
I just got a chance to install my gutted cat-converter today. It was a PITA to get the bolts off, even with air tools. After the cat was installed, I noticed that my turbo seems to spool up a little quicker; the exhaust got just a bit louder (more rumble); acceleration on the freeway seems to be quicker.
When I punch it, sometimes I get a "pop" (after burn) from the exhaust. For you guys with a straight pipe or gutted cat, does this happen to you? Just curious.

I always got realllyy nasty afterburn before, tuned the cam gears and it ran a lot better, not nearly as much flames and backfires... I know its cool and all to shoot flames, but i'd rahter not The police here dont take too kindly to my car anyways after registering at my uncles house, so they cant rag me on not having a muffler, cat, o2 sensors, evap system, egr, etc.. anymore...
