Is it absolutely necessary to run this?? We just finished installing the SFMU today and we used the short, dark colored spring and 3.62 disk (I know we use the 2.72 disk, but for some reason, there's a bit of gap between that disk and the ring, the other disk\ring set don't, so I was a bit hhmmmmmmm..........). I'm hitting like 100-110 psi on my FP gauge. The car idles at 50. The car seems to pull a bit faster even though I'm running extremely rich for 5-6 psi.
Oh yeah, at one point, I actually hit 8 psi for some unknown reason once. EGT's during the time is where it's at normaly for a non-intercooled system. Must be this testpipe.

well i had the same thoughts as you did with the 2.72 disk/ and washer. It is NORMAL for there to be about a 1/4" gap between that disk and washer, even though the others dont have that big of a gap. I used that setup, and gave perfect fuel pressures for about 6 psi. Over 6 psi, it didn't give quite enough fuel, so i used the 3.6 or the largest disk, and the bleed valve, and thats working excellent for my 8-9 psi now. I'm having to use the bleed valve to bleed off just a bit off boost pressure for the 8 psi...i'm hitting aobut 110 psi of fuel at 8 pounds

Me and Fast420A was kindda iffy when we saw the 2.72 disk. That's the reason we opted for the 3.62 already in there. I feel a bit safer with that since, we have no idea how or why on non-intercooled kits, I've hit 7 psi a few times. I've even hit 8 psi once. Take into consideration that I have NO BOOST CONTROLLER and NO INTERCOOLER, except for that wastegate spring that comes with stage 1 kits. Most of the time, I hit 5 psi. It just goes over that depending on how the tranny shifts and at what speeds. The EGT's did their usual climb but have always let off at 1600 or closer.

If you are having high egt's with that much fuel, I would suspect that you, like others, are not getting the proper voltage from your MAP sensor. The voltage clamp or "fuel cut defenser" from HRC has caused this with a fair amount of people. If you have 40 bux to spare (i think 40), I would suggest that you buy the missing link and eliminate your FCD if thats what you are using.
I would also check your wastegate actuator as well. That is not normal to see that much boost if the wastegate is functioning properly. A test pipe would not do that.

I thought having high fuel pressures will make your EGT's skyrocket too (it's afterburn or something like that). Yeah, I'm definetely getting the 'missing link'. Also, the HRC manual clearly stated that replacing it with a pipe or taking out the cat. will result in excessive boost pressure. How 'excessive', I'm not sure. Either way, the car is idling much better now, and pulls a bit harder. Thanks for the help guys.
