#28542, "calling 034efi supplementary injector users"

I got Corbins sweet 8 injector fuel setup installed, and now when I try to use the 034 efi it keeps telling me "Comport selected is incorrect, aborting" . I have tried all the comports even though I know that it is #2(I can use the datalogging program through comport #2) and none of them work. Any ideas? I really want to go to 25psi and have some lunch, and dinner...modded V8's that is. TIA

haha mine is still in the baggy too, but that will only last for 1 more day muhahahaha
1 question though...

See how the bosses dont line up in the center of the runners... Isn't this gonna cause some puddleing in the runners??? It seems to me like this setup would be way better if we could get a secondary rail that would line the injectors up right in the middle of the runners...

one thing that i noticed was that u're inj's look further back and more horizontal than corbin's. they would be a little more centered if the inj's were a few inches more toward the end. i dont' think it'll matter much b/c when they're in use there will be a ton of air flow pushing the fuel into the engine...in all theory at least.

actually even if they wre moved foward some it looks like unless you moved them ALL the way forward that they'd still be offcentered ... don't think it matters much whether it's centered or not it's going to the same place...

Hey...I might be able to help you out some with the software issues. Send me an e-mail to "cbehnken@vt.edu" or give me a call at "703-330-7735" after 5. I had a good deal of problems getting my laptop to interface with it too.

I've been tuning mine for awhile now. I've just about got it too!

Are you sure you have the necessary DB-9 interface cable and not some other standard serial cable?

The cable is just a serial cable. You can get one at any place that sells computer stuff.

The deal is that you need a DB9 serial mouse extension cable. DB9 serial data transfer cables may or may not be appropriate. Some of them are built differently than the mouse extension cable (pins don't match up from end to end).

I went through almost every problem imaginable getting this thing to work. I can offer alot of advice on this setup.

Brian...alot of people don't suspect I'm AT. I know its slowing me down, but I plan to keep it. I like the predictability in shifts and driveability in traffic. No track times yet, buy my co-workers are convincing me to test it. I'll take it out when I think its fast enough.

It appears that my $50 laptop was part of the problem, as well as some some bad 034efi software in the begining and only running win 95'(javad at 034efi says run at least 98'). I got the 034efi program to work properly on my home pc, so I took the 034efi computer out of the car, programed it inside , then put it back in the car. It's a really crappy time consuming affair, but until I get my laptop working properly, it's all I got. I seem to go lean if I get into boost fast(like downshifting for power) but it seems to stay way rich if I raise the boost slower. I can't use my datalogger(no laptop) so all I have is a greddy elec. A/F gauge to judge rich or lean conditions. I am still waiting for my EGT gauge to arrive. I should really be conservitive, since it would be a shame to blow my engine up because of not having the datalogger working and waiting on a EGT gauge to arrive. I have gone to 1 bar so far while running rich and damn was it a real kick in the ass. The car has incredible potential with Corbin's 8 injector setup, and if I don't take my time, (like Corbin says on his 8 inj page) great opportunity for an expensive engine meltdown. In conclusion, I am pleased with these early results.

In case you were wondering, the software will work with Win95. I'm using a ghetto P75 Compaq laptop running Win95. If it will run on that, it will run on yours. And I really wouldn't boost until you get the laptop working right. And the "fuel cut below" parameter is very important for that transition from 4 to 8 injector operation. I discuss it on the site.

Keep tuning man. Sounds like you ran into some of the problems I initially encountered. Keep working at it. I am. emoji

Javad said that it was really for win98, but he did admit that it might work on Win95 depending on the system. It was strange because while running Win95 I could get the ECU32 program to work, just not the superfueler, and on top of that the ecu32 program would show the MAP presure and engine RPM in realtime, although it took me a long time to figure this out. Thanks for the phone support Corbin. -Neil
