All I have to say is that my car is SCARY now!!! I have falllen in love with it again. I just got done installing my 441cc injectors and I turned the boost up to 15 psi. It is SOOOOOO fast. I am getting a boost leak though. I hit 15 psi then it drops to like 13. And I keep blowing off the vac line that goes to the top of the throttle body. It is very untuned still also. It is running very rich. I dont want to mess with it too much untill I get my friends datalogger hooked up to it so we can really tune it right. The feeling you get at 15 psi is reallly crazy!!! It is like night and day from 8 psi. I raced a mustang on my way home from installing the injectors and I beat him so bad it was like he was driving a damn yugo. It was a 95-97 GT. HAHAHAHA It was so funny being able to pull on it soo hard. I am sure I will be gettign some good kills in the next few weeks. And a track apearance is coming so stay tuned.

yeah i bet it feels real good now! it's a rush! but dude lean with the AFC a lot! if you think you're running rich before imagine with those injectors. for example this is my setup with 36lbs injectors:
lo setting/ 1k -25,2k -30, 3k -32,4k -40,5k -42,6k -43,6500 -43
hi setting/ i forgot i gotta look again but it stair ways up starting from 3k,-15.
so you see i gotta be alot leaner 'cause i used to be super rich when i 1st installed these. i tested and played with it a lot, and i finally feel the best results with this setup. so see what results you get when you lean it out more and play close attention to your EGT since you got it.

damn Dave, I gotta talk to you later on. No timing retard? I just might have to go with the same setup. I have 400 miles on my rebuilt engine...woohoo. 100 more to go before I boost it to 8. boosting at 1-2psi sucks ass.

Nope no timing retard. I turned it to 14 psi now. Just to be safe. I cant seem to get the damn fpr to get lower fuel pressure. It still hits like 100 psi of fuel. I am running really rich. But its still VERY fast. Every time I drive it and I start boosting past 10 psi I get ahuge smile on my face and I keep saying Oh My God over and over again to my self. Then I start laughing becuase I am so impressed of how fats it goes. And now my egt's are really low. I only get to 1400 on a hard pull at 14psi.

Put a restrictor inline with the vacuum line to the FPR.. also, open up the bleed valve more.. This will allow the FPR to assume a more even 1:1 ratio, instead of a fat 1:10 or 1:12 like your probably still tuned for emoji

Damn nice Dave!!! emoji I cant wait for this winter's engine rebuild project to start really makin some powwwwahhh emoji Sheeett..Your using the HRC regulator with the 440's? I would think that the rise rate will be waaayy too high for those injects. Well from what you say, it is, lol. Get the SFMU, you will love it, worth every penny IMO. Use a Datalogger to fine tune everything, and it will be a monster! Let the V8 ass whoopin begin emoji

Nice...

Do you like the new sound your turbo makes while spooling at 15psi?

5-10psi has a definite hisssss sound but after I turned it to 18psi it has this scary spool sound, kind of like the normal spool sound but way deeper. It's kind of like your car is growling, I love it.

Your car sets you back in the seat hard now, hu. emoji

That kicks ass, congrats. The 12psi day at the track for me, the turbo made the whole "whoooshhhhhh=POP" (insert pipe whistling here) just about every run, because i have a ghetto-rigged i/c piping system. Someone told me i coudl take my car to rapid B&M and have them make a pipe for me...might just do that.

Yea, I've had about every IC coupling pop off and about vacuum hose pop off. I fixed them by welding all the connections together and using T-bolt clamps on the places that couldn't be welded. I also use steel fuel line for vac line. I haven't had those problems lately.

Justone....You are so right on that weird sound at 15 psi. It makes a really loud hiss. Almost like a open wastegate but not as loud. It is a really great sound. and a track apearance is coming soon. Prolly in the next couple weeks or so. I just hope my stock clutch lasts. And right now I am runnign 13 psi not 15 like yesterday.

What fuel pressure should you be seeing at 15psi of boost? I'm about to be in the exact same situation you are when I finish breaking in my engine. I have 40# injectors, an S-AFC, but I still have the HRC FPR. Not only does it not keep a very consistant idle fuel pressure, but it goes pretty high under boost.

I'm looking into getting a new FPR. How much is the Vortech S-FMU? Does anyone use another brand? What about the Aeromotive A1000 that Jeg's sells? It has a vacuum/boost port so you can tune by boost.

Well the night before the track I took my car out and it ran terrible, it kept bogging down and misfiring at 10psi so I didn't know what to do, slept on it. Next day, some guy at the track told me to pull out my spark plugs and sure enough the boost had pulled them out, so i regapped them and ran excellent. car ran pretty great at the track, but the debate still goes on as to whether to buy the S-AFC or the S-FMU with the 30#'s as my next investment. My car runs fine, sometimes a little rough at idle, other times perfect at idle. I don't even know the limit of those injectors.
