I have decided to go turbo. that is about it. i've been doing research online for the past couple of weeks. i haven't decided on either a hrc stage 2 or a star stage 2 kit. if i could get some of your opinions it might help. also i don't know which gages would be best.

No disrespect to NER, but i would wait till people are running the kit and have all the kinks worked out... if it was my $$$ being spent. if you go w/ hrc, you'll spool quicker, if you go star, you will have the capability to run more boost if your gonna go all out down the road... but really check the "things we've seen before section", there is a lot of good info in there.

all i really want is a stage 2 that will let me beat the ocasional car. if i go with hrc i would get the fmic. my real question is which is easier to install? Should i do a bottom rebuild? your coments will help me decide.

I would suggest HRC stage 2 to you personally. The have excellent support and have put a lot of R&D into their kit. It is tried and true. The instruction are really pretty decent.

Some engine last 2 weeks with turbo and some last 2 days. Anyone in their right mind would suggest a rebuild. But if you don't have the money to do it, then it's ok. Just be prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars at any given time when you're turbocharging any engine.

You say you will stay at stage 2 but in reality I bet you wont. i thought I would saty at stage 1 for a while but in about 3 weeks I haad a FMIC on it. Then a little more than a year later I am at stage 3. Trust me you will want more boost. And about the kits. Gte the HRC kit if money isnt an issue. Its a little more money but well worth it.
