#27648, "BOV's - loudest placement area?"

which portion of which intercooler pipe yields the loudest blowoff? i would say as close to the throttle body as possible on the upper IC pipe if i had to guess? if i make custom IC pipes i can pretty much place the valve anywhere i need to and ive heard bad things about placing valves on the lower pipe before the intercooler (or after the intercooler if youre looking at the path of compressor surge flow)

I have a turboXS Type-H-RFL..it vents into the atmosphere..it's SUPER loud..hence the name RFL (Real Freaking Loud)..draws lots of attention..

It shouldn't matter, in theory. All the IC pipes should be pressurized with the same amount of air, so, again, "in theory", the same amount of air should be getting blown off where ever you put the BOV.

If you have a front mount and you want it the loudest I guess you could put it on one of the pipes in the front so that the engine bay will not quite it at all. Just a thought.

Are you having any problems running the RFL???? Was kinda curious because I was thinking about getting mine once I get my turbo on but was kinda uneasy about it since alot of the 4G63 guys seem to have problems when they use one for some reason.......

It's because the 4G63 guys have a MAS and it doesn't like when you vent to the atmosphere and not back into the intake. The BOV has nothing to do w/ it. It's the venting.

I think I remember hearing closer to the IC is best. Don't quote me on that, but I think I remember hearing that somewhere. Maybe post this in 1G/4G63 since they know turbo so well.
