Leave the line, up to 20psi - falls to 15psi. Does it in every gear. What would cause this? I'm using a ball and spring mbc that has been rock solid up to 15psi. If I can get this thing to hold boost (and get some traction) mid 12's are on tap. emoji

Oh btw, 13.607@104.85 (with a crappy 2.2 60')

Greg, I experienced the same problem with my car. Either you have a boost leak somewhere, or your MBC might be causing the boost spike. I have the Turbo XS MBC. It holds solid boost up to 15 psi, but any higher and it spikes by 3-4 psi! Read this about the pin hole in the MBC that could possibly affect boost spike: users.erinet.com/40666/DSM-MBC.htm

Oh, and congrats on the 13's. I have yet to see 13's :'( I have a horrible 2.46 60'. I couldn't get traction, and my car doesn't pull in 1st or 2nd. I can't figure if out.

What boost levels were you running and what was your 60' time on that 14.4sec pass? And 20 runs, damn thats a lot! The most I've ever pulled is 6 in one night, you should try limiting your runs and letting the car cool down after each run for a good 30min or so. That should help your et's a bit....

Oh, this was a neat event that we had, they gave us like 4 hours of T/O's and there was about 100 people there, so it cycled pretty quickly. I ended up winning 3rd in the FWD class.

I couldn't get a 60' time better than 2.5. I was beginning to think that if i would have turned down the boost i could have got traction and been faster. I usually gave about 15 minutes between runs, although some of my NA buddies were running, staging, running, staging. Ended up totally wasting one coupler on a run, and blowing a pipe twice. but in all of the runs I did, my lowest 1/8 trap speed was 76 and my highest was 78.

Well I found a pretty sizeable leak that's loud at 20psi, but almost silent at 10-15 psi. The assault continues next weekend.

BTW, I had 26 passes last night. Not bad for $10.

cant you use the pipe tester and pump a bit of air into it to hear for leaks in the pipes etc? might want to try someone else boost controller who can go fast 15psi and no spikes or drops etc...

Greg, wow, 26 runs in one night! That's unheard of at National Trails. If you're luck, you might get in 2 trial runs, then eliminations.

Jon, it's true that the racing version of Turbo XS MBC could hold that much boost. I got the standard one. I guess I'll be selling it soon, and buy the next version.

I definitely say it's a great deal for the money. Too bad you're just now selling it, or i would have bought it from ya instead of buying a new one last week emoji oh well.

See Kon, you should come down here on a saturday and we'll go up to Tri State and tune via a couple dozen runs.

I do have a boost leak tester, but this looked like a pretty new split. It's the same as putting extra stress on anything, you just keep finding the weakest link until (hopefully) you run out of them. That connection won't be leaking again anytime soon, that's for sure.

It's now holding 25psi(with the tester) pretty solid. The bov hisses very slightly at that pressure, but it's nothing to worry about yet. One of the ic couplers had a 1/4" split in it that looked pretty fresh and on the drive in this morning it went right up to 20psi and stayed there. I love boost!
