A lot of the time when I push in the clutch, my rpm's will rise to around 1500-2000 on it's own. Other times, the car will just die. What could cause this? Also when I am driving, the battery and check engine light will flash for a second and then the tach will drop 500rpm and the whole car will jerk and then go back to normal. I'm getting to the point where I'm wanting to sell my car because I'm tired of all these problems. If anyone knows what could be causing this please help me.

make sure all the wires to your alternator is not loose and hooked on tight. Second I'm almost positive that the engine or egr tube melted some of your wires. It's not hard to melt the wires, since you've been having some over heating problems. So check to make sure you don't have any exposed wires.

All the wires on the alternator are hooked up good and a couple of weeks ago I did have a wire melted by my EGR tube but since then I have fixed it and looked for any other exposed wires and haven't found any.

The connection on my negative terminal on my battery was loose. I don't know if that would have caused anything though.

At night when I get these "surges", my lights get really bright and then go back down to normal and my A/F gauge goes all the way over to the last green LED, so it is reading extremely rich.

well I have a star stage 2, and when I first installed my kit the faulty vc-2 made the car run really rich, so rich that it would stall if i didnt hold the pedal down a bit during a stop or start up in other words during idle. It did all the same things, run rich, do jerks/ spurts , display the battery light. Just check it out.

Check wiring for your map sensor and fuel cut defencer. Make sure everything is solid.

I've checked the map sensor and it checked out fine. I didn't have to use the VCD because I'm a 95 and it wasn't needed. It did it before I installed the turbo as well. Could this be an ECU problem? I also have the faulty throttle body that I have read about. It said that the TPS didn't have an o-ring around it so moisture could get in and mess with it. I have noticed that it does this a lot when it is really humid outside or raining. Could this possibly be it too?

Well, last night I got a CEL for my map sensor. It barely runs now. I ordered a new sensor and it should be in tomorrow.

Well..my car when I use to Rev it really high and release off the gas when it was in neutral it would almost stall out or die..and the battery/oil/CEL lights would flash for a second and it would regroup and go back to about 600 rpms..well I added some washers for my Blow off Valve to make the pressure tighter and I adjusted the Idle RPMs with that screw that's on the valve cover of the engine..i doubt this helps..but maybe you could mess around with it or something..sorry
