What EGT's should I shoot for while cruising and then while in full boost? (10psi for right now.) Right now while I'm cruising, they are at 1200 degrees. Please help!

When I cruise in 10 vacume my egt is roughly 1400 degrees on the highway. I get 1600 degrees at 7K rpm in 3rd gear. In the summer heat it will climb to 1650 degrees in the top of fourth if I let it. If you plan on doing any high speed runs in 4th gear, use larger injectors. The summer heat will kill your new engine otherwise. If you use propane injection or a air-water intercooler.
I am running 9 psi currently and my egt will stay at 1600 at 7K rpm in fourth hear. I did run slightly over 12 psi on some super high speed runs and at the track. I had to mix a bunch of C16 race gas with some 93 pump gas. Egt still got to 1650 in the top of fourth and stayed there till I almost topped out 5th. I know I heat soaked the front mount, but the race gas saved my motor.
btw: still stock bottom end.
My suggestion is to set 10 psi on your boost controller and with your slightly lower compression pistons, you should(my guess)be around 1550 degrees in the top of 3rd gear with getting to 1600 at the top of 4th. With high boost, I plan on keeping my egt between 1500-1550 on my rebuilt motor.
Now a question for you. Give me all the specs on your clutch. Does it compare to the clutchmasters stage 3? price? clutch material etc.
thanks!

Should I try to lower my EGT's or are they about normal? Right now on my AFC I have it set at -10% all the way across the board on low throttle. To lower the EGT's I should raise my low throttle settings correct? As far as the clutch goes, I'm not too sure on all the specs. All I know is that I really don't think that I like it. The release point is way too high and when you go from a stop it either jumps around or you peel out. I does grab like mad once you get going though. It ended up costing me $500 from Wyatt. If someone could help me out with these EGT questions, that would be great. Thanks.

1200 while cruising seems pretty normal. a friend of mine has the same injectors as you, with SAFC, and he is at -10% at 1k rpm, and 1% lower for every point after that. cruising at 80mph he sees about 1350 on the egts, 1400 if going up a hill. i wouldnt worry about it though, you should be fine. you can richen it up a little in the freeway/highway rpm's (2-3500k) if it will make ya feel better. probably wont notice a big difference in EGt though.
