I have a Star stage I (probably one of the 1st made) and I now am getting my shit together. I will be intercooled soon from a 1g SMIC. I'm trading some stuff to get some new 30lb Accels. I just double checked Turbogs.com and I noticed that I DO have just a Vortech FMU. I have no fuel pressure gauge. What disk will I need to get and whatelse should I need to run these babies. I'm trying to make this as cheap as possible. I really just want them so my EGT's aren't so high at 7 psi. Will I run into any problems that have been consistent with this set-up? Thanks.

You will need the 8:1 disk. if you just have the FMU, and not the SFMU, the injectors will still work, you will just have rough start ups and idle. you will also run VERY rich at just 7psi, and dont be suprised if the A/F gauge doesnt cycle during normal driving like it used to. the injectors work, and it properly intercooled at 7psi, your egt's should hardly creep over 1400. goodluck with it.

What's the difference between S-FMU and FMU? Should I invest into S-FMU? I have a S-AFC that was on the car for about 4 hours before I gave up on getting it to run right. Should I keep the S-AFC and use it to help with starts and idle?

if you have a SAFC already then you wont relly need the SFMU. set the idle on the SAFC to about -10-13% and it will idle fine.

I plan on buying the 310's next week, and possibly the S-AFC to go along with it, but i don't know how well that crappy FPR is going to go with it all. Maybe I should buy the 310's, the NORMAL vortech FMU and the SAFC. Need to sell my stock rods and pistons first.
