Check your wastegate! I just got mine check and the spring that was on it was black. This is a 9-13 lbs spring, so it means that the boost set between that number. You have to get the silver spring which is the 7-9 lbs spring pressure.

The screw on top of the wastegate, clockwise will raise the boost(compress the spring more) and counterclockwise will lower the psi.

dude, i dont think the screw on the top of the wastegate was meant to raise and lower boost. I dont even think we have to worry about it at all on our car because we use the markII in wastegate mode. someone correct me if im wrong

If you disassemble it(take out the bolts around the top you will see inside that there is a spring and right on top of it a cap that holds it and it is connected with a set screw this push or release the pressure of the spring. It only adjust the pressure a little about 2 pounds or less(not much) but it help a little. You can buy a higher spring, black spring is 9-12 pounds.

I would not turn the screw on the westgate. the reason for your spikes in boost could be that your westgate is getting stuck closed and is not releasing the pressure, that is why when it actually opesn you only get 4-5 psi of boost (like you should), check that. (could be that it is not recieving a strong vacuum/boost signal from the vacuum line and that is why it is not opening. Try and tap the vacuum line directly to the intake manifold. This happened to me and when I tapped it directly it fixed the problem.)
Then go and buy a cheap (or expensive if you prefer) boost controler, that will help you regulate your boost much better.

well the prob that i am having is this

I don't have the vac line connected i want it to boost 4-5 psi since my turbo is huggggeeeeeee i think the turbo itself is boosting the 12 without the external, That was wa was doing before when had no flapper. So what do i do right now i have the waste gate connected to the dump tube and i have only the boost fitting on i don't wanna connect the vac since i don't wanna boost more what do i do to make the turbo boost lesss

I was thinking about porting but how much does it cost to port the exhaust biiger to make the turbo boost less.

Ok hold on. after reading it a few times, it sounds like you do have the vacuum hose connected (to the boost nipple not the "vaccum" spot on the westgate). what do you have the boost vacuum line connected to, the compressor or the intake manifold? Do you have the line t-ed off any other vacuum lines?
One more question, do you have an IC and do you have a sticker on the westgate that says 7? cus you should have a 7 pound spring on there.
If your answer is yes to both then all you have to do is plug in the "boost" vacuum line to the compressor and since we get about a 2 psi loss due to the intercooler, you will only boost about 5 psi without a mbc.

shitttt so it is set to 7 dammnnn yah mines say 7 and look i got the boost fitting the one that says fitting connected to upper pipe trew a rubber hose. now the vac fitting that is on the top of the waste gate i do not have it connected to nothign should i have it conencted to something. Beforre i was told only use that when i want to boost more. Right or Wrong ???.... now also remember this when i had no wastegate the flapper was open it was doing 12psi so i wanna bring that down

questing ??

should i take the time and waist the money and port out or should i just create a hole on upper pipe to have a boost leak ?? I am gonna rebuild in 2 months and rather not waist that money on the porting
and next month i am going to get front mount intercooler and that should drop me 2 pounds if i use 2.1/2 or 2.5 in and outlet right.

What do you mean by "upper pipe"?? your "boost" line from the westgate should be plugged either into the compressor or the intake manifold.
This could be your problem, if you have your boost line plugged wrong then your westgate is not getting the correct boost signal.
Again, what do you mean by "upper pipe"?

and no nothing goes in the spot marked "vacuum" on the westgate. And don't worry about porting now, that is not your problem...

Dude this is real simple. Take a vacume hose and put it on the little nipple on the side of your turbo's compressor wheel. then connect it to the little nipple on your wastegate. Your problem is that your turbo is building boost with no wastegate to control it. If that hose isn't connected then the WG does not know when to open. If you look real hard at this pic http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4292218287&idx=1 (from Hades' turbo install page)You will see there is a black rubber hosr that goes from the nipple on the WG over to the bottom of the compressor wheel. Does that make sence?

Edit: Did you check your head gasket or find out what was wrong with the thing first.

ok if you have that pipe then you are stage 1 and don't have intercooler. Otherwise you are talking about the pipe that goes to the intake manifold from the IC. Either way don't plug in the hose to that pipe, instead tap it to the intake manifold. that way you'r westgate will open when there is 7 psi going into the engine.

If you are intercooled, then just plug it that way and you will be fine boosting 7 psi. if you don't have an IC you should not have a 7lb spring on your westgate, and a mbc will not help you since you would have to boost below what the spring is set for.

So plug the "boost" hose to the intake manifold. And make sure that it is tapped directly to it, and not t-off a bunch of other lines, so that the westgate gets a strong boost signal.

Hope that helped.
