#26309, "Only 20psi of fuel WTF"

I sent the guy building my engine a S-FMU and explained how to hook it up and tune it the other day. But he can't figure the damn thing out (so he says). He says that it is only getting 20psi of fuel. I live more than an hour away and have no ride to get there to help him out. My question is, does this sound like the fuel pressure needs to be adjusted or is there a deeper darker problem? I think he is just confused on how to set it up. I am having him bring it to a local import shop to get it looked at. I hope they can help him out this sucks I almost had her back to me. Sory just had to rant a little.
Later,
Patrick

Is that 20 psi static pressure (idle)??
If so then he just needs to change the spring inside the SFMU to the darker colored one, and the turn the static pressure srew on top of the unit....

when i was having problems w/ my setup and slapped a fuel gauge on there i found out i had 20 too, but at above idle the piston would stick and get CRAZY pressures, the best of both worlds. yeah, the sfmu is just setup wrong

Also be sure he has the fuel tank return line hooked up to the BOTTOM port on the sfmu. The side port goes to the fuel rail. Also be sure he has the proper disk/spring setup inside the sfmu. What turbo you have? Stock fuel injectors? Need more info on your setup to get you the proper sfmu setup..

is the s-fmu brand new? yah you will have to open the allen screws, then change the spring to the dark one and if you got stock injectors just leave the current disk in for now.. let him loosen the top screw and use a allen head deal to adjust static fuel pressure to get your car to idle.. set it to 55psi till u get to look at it etc.. what turbo do u got ? etc? also make sure all the fuel lines are hooked up right etc etc...

Damn I have been gone for a couple of days and didn't see all these posts sorry for the late response. 1)yes this is at static (idle) fuel pressure. 2)I have the Hahn kit with super 20g and stock injectors. 3)Yes it is a brand new unit. I will call him right now and ask him about the fuel lines and tell him to change the spring. He tells me that the car just dies soon after he starts it, I guess do to fuel starvation. Thanks for the feed back I hope these new ideas will help me out. Also do you need to put on that little restrictor piece in on the vaccume line from the intake manifold to the side of the S-FMU?
