i purchased the star stage 2 w/ e trim upgrade...i think you all know what it comes with....i purchased the autometer egt and fuel pressure guage w/ sender....i have another 1600 to play w/...to run 10 psi i know that i will need bigger injectors and to be safe i'm going to get the msd dis II programmable to retard the timing under boost..i will be getting a turbo xs mbc for the time being and upgrading to the profec b....i want the turbo xs rfl bov b/c its just dope loud....i would like to boost to at least 15 to 17 psi...i have the money to upgrade to forged internals and i plan on going w/ 8:8 Je pistons w/ eagle rods and of course a new head gasket...i would like to run the 8:8 compression so that i still have decent power when i'm not boosting....i have read a butt load of the articles on the star kit and its attributes and its faults....to get me started i will boost at 8-9 psi b/c of the stock fuel system....i want to upgrade the injectors obviously so i can get some whoop ass power...wondering if i should stick w/ the traditional bigger injectors and afc combo or if i should give corbins 8 inj setup a try...other than corbin who is running this and is it safer at higher loads than the bigger inj's....its a great idea and kooto's to corbin for it....i will be racing more on my commutes to work and back than at the track so i'm not to worried about the spool time on my massive turbo....i have an extra engine to play w/ for my build up needs and i will be throwing the kit on while i'm having the buttom end bored, decked, balanced and built....the head may be off in the near future but not a big concern of mine right now....i know that the fuel system needs done first to get to 10 psi then the bottom end will need done to get above that...just wondering what you boys recommend for the safest setup on fuel and what compression ratio will best suit my needs..thanks for the space and thanks for your help as always....o just a little back ground other than the kit i have an afx udp 30 %, cf dual friction clutch, full suspension, motor mounts, full brake system, ...and what plugs and wires are the absolute best for the 420 a,money is not a concern

By that time you may be able to get the AFX stand alone ECU. It is suposed to be plug and play. Who knows when it will be done though. TTI Racing is making a plug and play ECU as well.

Only thing I can say is you may want to stay away from 10psi till the other engine is built because even with upgraded injectors (from what I understand) it's only a matter of time before you blow the internals at 10 psi. Dankone ran the 10psi bigger inj. on stock internals for a while perhaps he can shed some light on this topic?

LMFAO .. you called me DankOne. I'm insulted emoji

I never ran 10PSI on my stock internals. I got as high as 9psi, but a tuning mistake after my install of an AFC and 440cc/min injectors lead to the engine demise after ~6 months of abuse. I had the 440's in for a month.. hehe

it was the AFC more than the injectors. I had the ability to dumb a ton of fuel as well as the ability to take a ton of fuel out. Guess what went which way and what happened?

well i guess we learn from our mistakes... i really want to throw some 440cc injectors in i really want to run 15-20psi later when i rebuild, whenever that is... but right now i got 315cc with my stock internals etc.. i guess im bored and want to upgrade my car something rather cheap..

well to add to my troubles i think that my have a clutch that is slipping....i have the centerforce dual friction, has about 30k i'm assuming, maybe only 25...it grips when i'm pulling hard 1-3, but when i'm at low rpm's in 4th and go wot it goes up about 2 grand or so then comes back down, kind of the same in 5th, only happens when i slam the throttle to the floor....god i hope i only need some tranny fluid..what do you guys think....i'm not going to push more than 8 on the stock injectors....wish i could find someone that needs some 46lb injectors..have a guy that is willing to sell some to me....would only be around 140 a piece for 4 ford 46lb inj's.....my buddy is talking about doing the 8 inj setup....i may see how that goes first....if not i think the afc w/ big inj will be fine for 15 to 17 psi......
