heh.....yea...well after i installed my turbo kit, my a/f readings have been weird as hell. at wot its around .64, and at idle it doesnt even cycle anymore, it is usually just at 1.0. sumthins not right here and i keep getting a cel, then the next day it will disapear, then come on again. the car seems to run ok, except for a little hessitation here and there which makes the car "jerk" out of nowhere.i think that is causing the cel though because whenever the light is off, then i feel it hesitate, the cel comes on instantly. damn, i dont know the problem. im running star stage 1, and i got a high flow cat and 2.5 inch exhaust in the mail right now. im hoping this will fix the problem as some had suggested on this board. any ideas? tia.

What do you use on your MAP sensor? Is it the adapter valve that came with the kit? I have that problem when I used to have that. I've fix it by buying an FCD. I suggest you buy a missing link.

If your a/f gauge isn't cycling, your o2 sensor might be bad.

yeah pull the codes when the CEL comes on, you may have a short in the wires, maybe from the turbo that burned a hole through the insulation of the wire or something

hmmmm....on the star instructions i got it had the map sensor step crossed out so i didnt think i had to do anything with it, other than that bypass circuit box thingy. on that it had its own separate set of instructions of which wires to tap for each, so i put that together and soldered them in. am i supposed to do something else? my o2 sensor is not bad, and there is nothing wrong with the actual gauge because it worked fine before turbo.

the car is very low mileage, and the o2 sensor was working fine, until after i installed the kit. so could the o2 sensor die right awway from the kit being installed? if so that sux balls. also the o2 sensor is pressed up against the oil pan, i hope this isnt causing it to break or sumthin.

My car has fairly low miles too, and my o2 sensor worked fine until I put the kit on. If you have a chilton's, it'll show you how to test the sensor to see if its okay. Your problems sound a lot like mine did, I put a new sensor in and everything is okay. I'd check the sensor first to make sure it doesnt work, seeing how they run about $100.
check it out, after i put my turbo kit on 1 month or so my cel came on.. then after a couple days went away, then came back on, then went away etc, then finally one day it came on and never went away... and i was able to check my cel code after and it was relating to the front o2 sensor heater etc or so... so i replaced it and bame no cel for the same thing...=)

Trace through all that wiring for the gauge and make sure the actual sensor wires aren't rubbing against anything (oil pan). A grounded O2 wire will trip a CEL and cause hesitation. Wiring can go bad when you least expect it.

i brang my car to autozone, and it pulled 3 codes: system bank running lean, o2 sensor inactive, and something is wrong with my map sensor. im guessing something is wrong with the vc-2 or whateva that fuckin piece of shit black box is that comes with the star kit, that u tap into the ecu. well, im guessing i need a new o2 sensor, im guessing its the one in the downpipe since its the only one that was touched during the install. but what the fuck do i do about the black box thing. is there a way to check it and make sure it is working? i triple checked it and the wires are all connected properly and soldered. is the ignition wire in the ecu the thick black wire, the same as used to power corbins a/f gauge? if so, then those connections are all good. oh yea, and if anyone knows where i could get a good price on a new o2 sensor, that would be helpful. thanks in advance
