What's up guys this is my first post and although I don't have my car yet, cuz VA sux and there's absolutely no decent dsm's around here that aren't automatic, I'll be baggin one as soon as one shows itself. Anyhow, I'm plannin on havin a turbo kit in the mail as soon as I find the one. I was just wondering, on the hrc site they claim 14's for stage one, high 13's for stage two, and high 12's to low 13's for stage three. And the majority of these kits all on stock engines with the exception of their suggested cat back. I was more into honda's b engines before I decided to go dsm and to be runnin numbers like that you usually have to do some rebuildin. So I was just wondering with all this claim to fame, how true are these numbers? And if true, how safe to be running their suggested setups. I've also seen a couple ppl up here switch from hrc to star, better? Any info anyone could hit me up with would be greatly appreciated, thanx.

From what i have seen on this board, their numbes are slightly high. Seems like most people running 7-8 psi are in the low 14's. I'd be willing to bet if the car was tuned very well, a 14 flat or very high 13's might be possible. I guess there are just way too many variables to consider when talking about 1/4 mile times also. The norm seems to be low 14's on a stage 2, with possibilities in the high 13's with some other bolt on mods(UDP, bored TB, exaust). I havent gone to the track yet to get some times with 7 or 8 psi cause my FPR is still too rich, but i may get out this weekend when the new SFMU goes in..so i'll see what i can run..hoping for low 14's..cause i have the UDP and upgraded exaust.

HRC's performance numbers and times are definitely what they claim (although I haven't experience it myself). There are many variables that affect performance/times--driver skill, condition of car, traction, tuning. Notice that HRC has the front of their lowered, while keeping the rear height stock; that would greatly help traction. From the hp numbers and 1/4 times on this board, I'd say HRC's advertised numbers are correct.

...he tunes his motors kinda conservative from what Len told me, it's to make sure they are reliable and strong running in just about any climate. They've been to the track so you can't doubt it. Now whether or not the average driver can duplicate that is another story. It takes a good driver for any car. I'm a good driver but I think at the track I'd suck sweaty ass (ain't that a pretty picture) and I think it's the same for most people who've never been to the track or hardly go.

You have to remember were he races as well. North IL and Wis are his test tracks.

I'm only about an hour away from HRC and when you race in October at Great Lakes Dragway you will run some NICE 1320 #'s. Must have been 40 degrees with 0 humidity out last year!

That's true about driver skill; you can have a 13 second car and run 15's if the driver can't shoot it down the 1320 efficiently. Heck, I'm one of those guys :'(

well dont just suddenly settle on the hahn kit. That is the one i wanted originally too and still like but there are 2 other kits out there. Many people on here have the Star kit and the NER kit was developed by a guy who posts on here. After looking at the NER kit i can definetly say that i want the Stage 1C. That kit will put down almost as much HP as the stage 2 of hahns (at the wheels) and it is around $1000 less for the NER kit. Im just saying, do some research first and see which you like better. The thing that makes me lean towards the Hahn kit rather than the NER is Hahns amazing Customer service. Can't beat that.
