#26057, "Question about hastings rings"

I am in the process of rebuilding my engine. I recived my pistons and rings the other day. Unfortunetly my room mate opened the rings and spilled them on the floor. Now I don't know which ones are the top rings and which are the second rings. One set looks like number 4 fromt the chart, while the second set has a dot on the top and looks like number 3 from the chart. Well I can remember if they look like number 3 or number 7. Anyone know what ring gose on top?

Now, if i remember right...

The top ring is all black, and had a flat outer face

the second ring will have a polish outer face, and have a slight angle to it and will look like #6.

The oil rings are easy.

The one with the polished outer has more of a rounded outer surface. Not angled.

Looks like they're in the right order there. The top ring is the #1, the second ring is the second..

You might want to call Howell just to make sure, though.

U can use logic for that. Well the one that looks like a snow plow....the bottom one... brushhes the oil back...the one that is flat.....get teh excess FINE oil that the other doesnt...im not refereinf to fine as the oils thickness....yet the second rings mis hap.
