#25904, "Using Mustang Injectors and the 420A plus setting up wastegate questions"

For some reason I can't get any results from searching the archives so I apologize for a most likely already answered question. emoji

Quick Backround:
I've ordered the first production Hahn Stage II kit back in '98 and luv'd every minute since. Major probs included broken piston land (due to radiator fan relay breaking and overheating) and the ever loosening nuts and bolts that hold this sucker together.

Major Upgrades:
Wiseco 8:5:1 forged pistons
Crower forged H-Rods
Walbro intank fuel pump (along with HRCs Accel helper pump)overkill }>

I lost the bug to continue till now. I have a S-AFC and exhaust temp gauge ready to install but I want to know if Mustang injectors are compatible replacements. I have lots of Mustang friends so 30lb injectors would cost me next to nothing.
My other question is setting up the wastegate. Like an idiot I messed with the bar adjustment on the wastegate. (the rod that connects the wastegate to the actuator) Since then I havent been able to get the boost back to normal. It either boost very slowly with low max boost or boosts like pistons are free (11psi at 4000rpm... emoji ) Do I adjust the bar till I feel it pushing the wastegate closed then back out a little? Its a real pain for trial and error since I can only play with it about 3 times till it gets too damn hot to reach under the turbo housing. Im trying to understand the role of the adjustable rod, can it be messed with to control boost, or is it something that needs to be set a certain way and left alone. HRC sets the Stage I kits to 5psi I believe and the Stage II to 7psi, the only means they have is this rod. But from my experiences, it not only controls max boost, but latency times. Could my actuator be worn out? Anyway to test it?
Sorry for the long post, but Im confused as all hell. If the actuator rod and a manual boost controller can control boost, what should the rod be set at...

Any input would be appreciated.....

The rod cant really control boost. It can only change the boost maybe about 1 psi. The stage 2 comes with a different actuator that makes it able to boost a couple more psi. If you have the stage 1 you need a boost controller to change the boost.

I have some mustang injectors sitting in my room waiting for the engine to be broken in before I install them. They are 42lb not 30 lb. 42lbs ~ 440cc. The ones I have a black and green.

What kind of fuel pressure are you going to run with those injectors?

I have 30lb mustang injectors in my car. 30lbs~315cc...its basically the biggest injector you can go with w/o needing a SAFC

95 Avenger
ATX->MTX Swap
Holset HX40 @ 26 psi
