475 through stage 5 is without anything else being modded, so I wonder what kinda power could be attained through cams, and all those other little mods people can do.

well, running a stage 5 will require heavy duty tuning i would think meaning that you would require cams. You definetly would have to have upgraded rods and pistons. is a stage 5 smart for a 16 year old kid? plus is this ur daily driver or are you just wondering on HP levels?

Stage 4 here you come? The only difference between 4 and 5 is the 20g turbo. You'll need to throw lots of money towards the fuel system to get you there and the ignition..then you have to worry about the drivetrain.

soldier101, try to get the kinks worked out with the kit first before trying to squeeze more power out of it with cams and shit. dyno, dyno, dyno...

edit: btw, age is not a factor, its the itelligence of the mechanic, so if you have lots of $$$, get the best mechanic you can find, or if your like me, do everything you can yourself, and research, research, research...

oh, hahaha i fully agree that its knowledge, and im not dissing 16 year olds cause im 16 too, but i cant see many 16 year olds running a stage V eclipse because i normally earn everything i get and most 16 yo dont earn enough to pay for the gas, maintenence, and the turbo! I hope you are paying for it cause it will make you appreciate it more. My family is rich but i never let them buy me anything, unless my dad runs over a piece of wood in the middle of the highway. Now he has to buy me new rims. emoji Well, if you do get it then i say hell yea, smoke those ricer civics at ur school! best of luck to you, i saw in an earlier post that ur dad is letting you get one. Haha, you need to talk to my dad and convince him. he said i could go stage 2 but not right now emoji .

goddamn.. 15?? not even old enough to drive the car and you already have a kit and a bottom end? where do you work and are they hiring? also, if you are planning on running a stage 4 or 5, the starion will not be sufficient enough.

^^what once was^^

^^what is now.. and permanently^^

Starion will be enough for now. The SMIC is efficent up to 15 psi. more maybe. The starion will tip out plenty of efficentcy for now. Im not look to run 30 psi. Im wanting a car. Not a jerky ass hot rod that doesnt idel worth shit...Im gonna leave it at that. pay the shit off. Then go from there,

I just realized how younger the 2gnters get. I turned 23 a couple of months ago and know that the veterans on here are at least 21 years of age.......we can create our own army. What do you say Dino? Murix, Corbin, Todd, Jason, Armond. We can take over the world! And Anthony, the special tools needed for this rebuild is a torque wrench, engine lift, pistion ring compressor, 5 ton 3 jaw puller. An impact wrench could make it a whole lot easier.

Lots of young'ens in it now.. I'm 20, was stage 5 at 18, but I bought the car halfway built up, most of the big $$$ parts had already been bought, I just bought it off a rich friend of mine for a steal... Thats the only way I can afford to keep it going... It's been a great learning experience, never owned a turbo car before..

Stage 4 or 5 is a lotta powa for a youngin to have. I hope you drive smart, and have the right attitude to control all that power. Dont wanna see anyone get hurt or a totaled car..Damn, i'm 25, and only a stage 2..scrimped and saved like hell for it..I hate to preach, but just be careful..At only 15 or 16 for some of you, a fact is that you dont have much driving experience, which when combined with high HP cars..its always trouble. But if your smart, appreciate the power, and use it wisely, all the power to you emoji

yea, i just want to go stage 1 or 2. 4 and 5 is too much tuning, too much money/time for me. being 16 and ive already totaled my car once, at least the insurance company totaled it even though it wasnt totaled, my dad has wrecked it once, and i have blown a clutch.

heh, you're even worse than I am.
Totalled one car at 16, then cracked an engine block(would have been nice if the f*cking thing had a low coolant light) Then I crashed the Eclipse, bu fortunately have an uncle with a body shop, and the damage was minor anyway.

oh, and who out there hasn't messed up a clutch, not counting the AT guys

1995 RS
new engine, I think I'm just going to leave it stock now.
