i was having problems with my star turbo install, but i recently tried the soap on the mani trick and it bubbled like crazy.(so thats why my car sounded like a lawnmower) i took off the mani and noticed that the stock mani gasket that i used had these little dimples on it where it looks like the 2 pieces of the gasket were machined together. right at those points u can see the exhaust was escaping from those areas. do people actualy re-use the stock manifold gasket, because people keep telling me that there is no way anyone can use that gasket for the star manifold. what do u turbo guys use for a exhaust mani gasket?

I use the stock exhaust manifold gasket. I bought a new one but it's still the stock gasket. I haven't had a problem with the gasket. It was just with the piece of shit manifolds that Wyatt was sending me. He finally sent me a good one though. If anything, just order a new manifold gasket from Satan or wherever and you should be good to go unless some one else on this board knows of a better gasket to use.

My first one was cracked when I got it. The 2nd one that he sent me leaked and had a small crack in it. The last one that he has sent me is great though. It's not exactly the same as the other 2 that I got. So far I am the only person that I know of that has had problems like this with the manifolds.

My STAR manifold has been balls-on since day one. I used my ORIGINAL manifold gasket, too. never leaked, never had a problem.
Xtreme - you're a freak.
