#2575, "help...i hear a soft high pitched whistle!"
I finally was able to jump start my car (after checking over all the wiring). So when I went on a 'test drive' I hear this soft high pitched whistle sound that is linked to the accelerator pedal. The more I push it down, the more I hear the soft whistle sound...(I didn't go WOT though...just cruised around...boost guage didn't go above 1 psi).
Do I have a vacuum leak? I did leave my car out in the cold for a few days...so my hoses could have frozen and expanded a little?
OH, I have a turbo running at 5 psi.
I really didn't notice this before...but then again I never left my car out in the cold for so long either...

thats what a turbo sounds like when its spooling...its sounds like a whistle and you feel like your car is going into warp drive(star trek thingy) usually around 2-3k for me
sounds like it is the turbo spooling....it should sound really nice soft whistle pitch. Good luck Star Stage 2 In the Rain or In the Snow, Got the got the Funky Flow.

Ya, I'd check all your lines, and pipe connections. Make sure your BOV is screwed all the way down too. You will know if its the turbo spooling up, cause it will sound cooler then shit When I first heard my turbo spooling up, I almost... never mind.
I use to have a White 99 GS Sport with a Star Stage II Ball Bearing T3/T4 turbo...it was fun untill....well those who remember me know Oh Ya...this is what I have now... a 99' GSX...

If it is an air leak you can definatly tell the difference. Its a mad rush of air. The turbo spooling up happnes when there is a light load on the motor (20% THR) and slowly accelerating from 2-3.5kRPM. An air leak will only get louder as you put oyur foot down farthur to accelerate. Wyatt Leras http://www.turbogs.com 98 Eclipse GS Star Stage 5,000 Turbo kit
