The MAP sensor has nothing to do with RPMs. The ECU will cut fuel if the sensor has a voltage over 4.72 or whatever (0 psi). If you're having problems with your MAP sensor, make sure you have one that is correctly working and use the missing link (check valve).

the reason i ask about the map sensor is that when i blew it once before my car wouldn't rev over 4k. i have a missing link on there rite now and i currently hit some sort of fuel cut (not like bouncing off a rev lim like when i had a blown map sensor, but the car seems to stutter and then it bogs and does a nosedive) when i go into boost. i checked the voltage of the map during driving and it never got above 4.69 w/ the missing link installed. i'm redoing the entire fuel system this/next month to completely rule out fuel related issues. and and i'll have a datalogger to keep an eye on all these lean bank1 CEL's i keep getting from my first o2 sensor. (even thou i know i'm running incredibly rich w/ INSANELY high fuel pressures...which is what i'm guessing is the problem at this point, the cartech fpr)...
i was just wondering about the map still thou, thx for the info.
