I'm going to have my whole engine assembly done while it's out of my car. Check out the link and also check out the homepage to the link to see how it works. It's a good bang for your buck given that it is inexpensive. This is a must for turbo, nos, and high compression.

Won't it make the engine parts more brittle?

Yup, Cyrogenically treating metal parts makes then very strong
but also extremely brittle.

So I suppose the thing to do is only treat parts that will not be
put under extreme stress.. i.e. is a bad idea to treat rods &
axles. For those you need them to be able to flex a bit (esp.
axles). If you have ultra-hard axles and something happens, and
they don't give a little, guess what? Major SNAP! Same with rods
imagine how many compressive and strtching stresses they go
through.

I guess its ok for some other things, though what would benefit,
I dunno... Probably Camshafts and Crankshafts.. any other
Suggestions?

Anyone see the point in treating an engine block?

BTW Shipping is gonna cost a BOMB! Also who are these people?
Anyone dealt with them?

I won't have to pay for shipping.. the shop is right around the corner from me. They do recommend you treat the Rods, pistons, and rings because the benefits have been proven. Ed Bergenholtz's engine is there right now actually. They even have a raced out Lotus with it's engine being done also. This shop does not do work for the general public but for speed shops and companies that require they're services. So you cannot ship them your parts directly.. you need to go through a middle man such as your local shop. One of the guys at Powerhousemotorsports.com (where my engine is being rebuilt) has a Del Sol with a turbocharged Integra LS engine in it that had this treatment done and is now running low 11's under 12psi of boost. Now that's with the stock bottom end. This car is their track/project car and they are backed by big companies that are sponsoring them for the performance of this car. JG has promised them a complete overhaul of the block with new sleeves and block gaurd so powerhouse is not worried about blowing the engine.. in fact, they are pushing it til it blows. So we have yet to see how beneficial the cryogenic treatment is to a high performance engine. Check out the "how it works" section of the website so you can get an idea of what the process entails.

My RS ran a 12.2 @ 109mph under 14psi of boost at Pomona raceway just before I blew again. And before that.. my car was dynoed at maximum HP output level of 326 at 17.5psi on the Powerhouse Dynojet. They had to tune the AFC and retard my timing to get these results. Before that I was running so rich my car felt extremely sluggish.

Cool...

Timeslips? This is exactly what I was talking about... there are some freaking fast eclipses out there and NO ONE is posting their times up!

We need the recognition and respect. Post your times on http://times.dsm.org!!!

So, how did you run a 12.2 @ 109? I mean what set up where you using (especially Tires & suspension). I ran a 13.9 @ 105 which is almost 2 seconds off... I know traction was a great issue for me, but Dang dude, you must launch a 1.0 60ft time to get such a fast time for that mph!!

So what's the secret?????

Also is 326Hp @ the wheels?

BTW I remember seeing your car on Importfan.com, nice.

I borrowed my friends mickey thompsons that he uses with his mr2. As far as my suspension goes.. I have the AGX shocks energy suspension bushing set.. solid front motor mount.. vspec coilovers.. front and rear zspeed stb's.. and a GST rear sway bar. And I ran with a free flow exhaust, straight from the downpipe. And to be honest.. that was my one and only run at pomona. I know I could have done better but they wouldn't let me run anymore without a helmet.. Yes.. 326 at the wheels. The first dyno run was at 297hp with 210 ft.lbs of torque until they tuned it.

WHY Do People NOT post their 1/4 Mile passes????

C'mon guys, do you know that *Magazines* actually look at that website quite often, and do a YEARLY Top 10 DSMs lists...

TURBO Magazine ring a bell???

Has it ever occured to anyone to have a Top 10 Fastest 420A DSMs issue???

It might happen, but how will ANYONE ever hear of you unless you post your times!!!!!

Post It, post it, post it.. Have I made Myself Clearer????

I know that there is a Delay for the posts to come up. The dude who does it, obviously has a real job.... Also make sure you fax/scan your timeslips over to him. Anyway, one day they WILL appear, so the sooner you send them, the sooner they appear!

Skrilla, I would like to host the Fastest 420A DSMs list, and I really don't mind anyone linking to my page. Basically what I would require is Pictures & timeslips (plus the driver's info and Website address)! I even have a racing website ready to launch... http://GTuned.com

(Before anyone panics.. No, I am NOT selling anything)

It has LOADS of info on our cars (I have been collecting info for ever) plus tons of stuff I have written, and some FAQs... I also have one of the biggest most comprehensive Automotive links databases anywhere...

Gimme the green light and I will start it up! Been too lazy these past few months...
