star kit install problems...

1) finally got out those piece of rusted shit cat bolts (what a pain in the ass that was btw), but one problem. i got one bolt out completely the other one i ended up sawing off the head and ripping off the old downpipe so now there is a headless stud sticking out halfway inside the flange. any tips of how to get that out?

2) i really dont feel like drilling into the manifold for the egt gauge, is it any less acurate to drill into the downpipe? i heard its a 200 degree difference, but is it slower to come up with these readings or what?

3) whats the deal with the fuel pressure regulator? how do i install it, where, and connect to what? those instructions that came with the kit are SHIT!! (star)

well day 1 of turbo install is finished, and i feel like very little was accomplished. fuel pump installed, new fuel filter, removed exhaust manifold, removed downpipe, removed intake filter box. all that and we worked from 10am to 10pm. dmn that sux....well tomrorow is day 2, maybe we can actually accomplish some more tasks...with the help of this board of course....thanx guys for all your help.

I can answer your number 2 question. The reason not to put it in the downpipe is that the 200 degrees is a rough estimate, maybe less maybe more. You can never really get a more accurate reading than if you tap one on the number 4 runner. Example, if you put it in the DP, that thing might read 1400, when in reality, it actually is reading already 1650. Tap it in the 4th runner if I were you.

its pretty much useless to have an EGT gauge with the probe in the DP. well not useless, but you arent getting accurate readings like you should be. my hrc map sensor bypass(fuel cut defencer) is mounted on top of my cruise box. ive never seen a vc1, if you have a star kit, so i couldnt tell ya on that one. i know right off w/o going to look that the fuel press. regulator has has a line going to it from the fuel rail coming from the passenger side of the car, and a vacuum line coming off the manifold, and a fuel return line (if you have 96+.
