ok, i finally got my star stage 1 turbo kit, and i had a couple questions for the install tomrorow.
1) i know that on the center housing of the turbo there is an oil return line and oil drain line, but there are 2 other holes on opposite sides of eachother that i cannot figure out what they are for. they are plugged with red plastic caps.
2) for the egt gauge i should drill/tap a hole into the number 4 port, meaning the one closest to the drivers side? and did u guys use a drill press or just do it with a hand drill? its a pretty big hole and im not sure how i could drill it perfectly straight. and do u drill it on the top of the manifold next to the words "star" or underneath the mani?
3) i bought the autometer egt gauge (ATM-4344), anyone know what size hole u need to make and the size of the tap? (drill bit size/tap size?)
thanx a lot peoples, without this board my car would be gay and no fun.

If there are four holes on your turbo, two are oil feed and return, and two are water feed and return. I've never seen a T3/T4 with water ports, though.

Okay the hole in on the first pic is where you connect to the wastegate. In the second pic, The hole plugged by the red cap on top is where to oil feed line goes, the bigger one on the bottom is where you connect the oil return line.

Yeah, those are coolant lines. Two for oil, two for coolant.
If Both water lines are threaded, just block them off. Chances are you'll never run that turbo enough to require water cooling. all HRC's turbos are plumbed for water cooling as well as oil, but HRC sends them out with those ports plugged.

Like the said cooling lines. As far as the EGT tap goes find out what the size and thread pattern is for the nut that will screw in there. then go to any hardware store and buy 4 bits. a really small one to start the hole (so it is centered) must be very sharp, the a little bigger one, the one the same size as the (adapter for the EGT that will screw in there) and finally use a tap to create the threads for the adapter to screw in. (this one must have the same thread pattern as the adapter and be the same size.) HOpe that made some sense. and yes tap it on the runner closest to the driver about 2" from the block. I think most of us have tapped it on top.
Hope that helps. Late
