well i was changing my plug wires and accidently broke my pcv tube going from the valve cover to the intake manifold. so i just left the hose off for a few days til i could get some more hose. i noticed that my idle vacuum was about 16-17 and when i would coast and let off the gas, it would go all the way down to like 23-24. i figured the hose being off caused this. well i put a new piece of hose back on there and it is still giving the same reading. the postive boost level seems to be correct. any ideas?

I think it's supposed to do that. Mine always has even when N/A. Maybe you just didn't notice it before.

My vac reads about 16 hg's at idle, and when i let off the gas when coasting in gear, it goes down to about 21 hg's. If you have your pcv valve off, you are creating a vac leak.

well the valve itself was never off, just the hose. and since the valve should be one way i dont think i ever had a vac leak, plus a vac leak would cause the number to lower as opposed to raise right??

Right, if you have a vac leak it will be down at like 10 or so like mine does sometimes.
