i don't have one yet, so i couldn't say, but i do do weekly compression tests, and i'm still at 210 x4. but DAMN is my engine hot when i park her. in a few weeks i'll have an egt and a new fuel setup (either corbins or i'll just replace my cartech w/ an sfmu)... we'll see how it goes. but yeah, i don't know what temp it is. that and i've only run about 3psi for the past 4 months WHICH IS STARTING TO PISS ME OFF, but i'd still like an egt.

When I first put my turbo on, I did all kinds of retarded things. It was a used kit missing parts and I just didn't know better. I was using a REGULAR Walbro 255, the crappy cast HRC FPR, and kept trying to run 9 psi. It would just run out of fuel at like 7 psi and go off the scale about 1700F. I would let off when it got that high. I eventually figured out that the fuel pump wasn't so good and bought a Hi-press Walbro 255. I was then able to boost 9 psi, but my EGT's were still up at 1600F. I then read a datasheet for the pump and decided it was best to stay at 6 psi (and get a S-FMU). I made mistakes with wastegate lines, tranny lines, piping, you name it. I'm surprised the car is still in one piece. Thats what happens when you install a used kit missing parts with no instructions or prior turbo experience.

I hear that, Corbin.

I did so many stupid things... I'm amazed it lasted as long as it did.

The reason I asked is that I went over last night (about the 3rd time since turbo'd), and scared the shit outta me. I ran her normally for the next few miles, after that, I did a few boosted runs and everything seems fine. I just freaked me out when I saw the needle pass 1600.

I hit 1600 often when I was doing WOT runs. Especially at the track, or when I was going up hill with boost. I had the EGT probe in the downpipe, so 1600 was really 1400 for me. I hit 1450 regularly. Still had 210psi across all 4 cylinders a year later.

If I keep on it at WOT I get to 920 celcius. I did my dyno and drove all the way back from chicago (about 3 hrs) boosting and now i know that most of the boosting was done at over 900 celcius (1600 F.) did a compression test and is fine.. now I keep an eye on my gauge and let off before it gets to 900. I think I need begger injectors or something..lol.
