#24986, "Went to the Dyno today."

Well it kind of sucked. I had the boost up to 7-8 when I went and the very first run he didn't even get the rpm's high or even really get on it, and he let off real quick, and went to the computer, my A/F started out fine, and then jumped waaaay up. So the Dyno tuner thought I wasn't getting enough fuel pressure, so we hooked up a gauge and had PLENTY of fuel pressure. So my stock injectors were maxed out at only 7psi. That was not even WOT 7psi, or not high rpms.
The car only made 195 HP, but the guy said that was because he was backing out of it really early, because of how dangerously lean it was getting.
I was hoping I could get 10 psi before the injectors get maxed out.
So anyway we turned the boost down to just using the HRC 4 psi actuator.
MY autometer A/F gauge is WAAAAAY far away from being accurate, it was saying it was rich.
I also put in the Synaps*sp* map sensor check valve in, it is great, no more CEL.
I have some 440's, and a SAFC but I have to get a MSD DIS before I throw in the injectors.

I was told from a reliable source that the SAFC will throw off the timing so I would need the DIS.

Has anyone else heard this........If I wanted to run 15psi..

Maybe with like 13 psi I wouldn't need the dis?????

Let me know cause if I can I will put them in..

I reccomend buyin a datalogger and logging your stock ignition curve. otherwise, you could be retarding too early, toolate, too much, or too little for yoru application. when I first got my car together, I was retarding about 7 degrees of timign at 18 psi. car didn't make good power, wasnt' very strong, and I never could figur eit out..........until my datalogger told me I was gettin abotu 14 degrees of spark advance.....puttin my final spark advance at a whopping 7 degrees (that would be perfect if i was trying ot run 18 psi on 2 year old 73 octane gas......not that great for 93 octane). I stopped retarding timing, didn't get detonation, and made a good extra 40 hp after it was all said and done. My car is going to be different as I don't have an afc. it's best to borrow or buy someone's datalogger, make a full pass and see what your timing looks like. I woudl try to keep it at 17 degrees, and work up until you get detonation, then knock it back a few notches to be safe. that is how you will make the best power and not blow yoru engine up, or melt your exhaust valves.

Just be glad he let off and was paying attention. Not in my case though. I only hit 197.5HP at wheels at like 10 1/2 psi and 187 at 8 psi. Then went boom. At least u no go boom. boom bad.
