#24912, "Update on Fuel Cut Issue"

Well I checked the voltage going to the ECU during boost. At idle it's around 1.5-1.6v..during boost it reads briefly 4.6v. I'm beginnig to think that it is that kink in my fuel line. I got two questions tho.
1) Where does the fuel line to raise the fuel pressure connect to on the rail?
2) What is the line on the Vortech FPR that's on the side of the little part of the saucer?

THanks

i don't think this will be any help, but my fuel issues sound much like yours. except i have the cartech fpr to blame. i did EVERYTHING and i would always hit fuel cut. i finally took apart the fpr, cleaned it, put it back on the car, and it worked. i was still getting very high pressures on my rail, but no more fuel cuts. i think the pressures were b/c the engine was still thinking it was running lean and i never reset the ecu/fuel maps. the CEL has gone out, i'm assuming b/c it's figured out what's going on. either way, it's working and driving better than ever. but from what i've heard, the vortech unit is very good, so i'm not really sure what to say. you've already checked the MAP (trust me, i went thru that whole thing, i had wires going from my MAP above the hood thru the window hooked to a volt meter while i was driving...ghetto)...hope things work out, SOMEONE help this guy, i had to live w/o boost for about 3 months, rough....

Does anybody know mechanically speaking, how the FPR works? THanks

Well basically the FPR is a fuel pressure "bleeder". It bleeds off fuel pressure from the fuel pump. The vortech does just this. There is a valve inside the FPR that lets more or less fuel pressure by when you get into boost. The unused fuel pressure is sent back into the return fuel line back to the tank to be recirulated over again. The vac line attached to the FPR is what sends boost pressure to the FPR. Inside the FPR, there are diaphrams that push up and down on the fuel"bleeder". When the FPR sees boost pressure from the vac line, the pressure pushes against the diaphrams, and keeps the bleeder valve more closed, which keeps more fuel pressure in the lines, and less fuel going back to the fuel tank. When you are in vacum, the regulator is letting a lot of fuel pressure to be bled off, and sent back to the tank.
