Well after doing a compression test and # 2&3 cyl at 80 & 60 and only going up 40 w/ tablespoon of oil. and that there is oil all over the back of my engine we've decided that the head gasket blew(when the line came off the wastegat and overboosted to 20 psi+stg 1=bad)and I'm stuck with a couple of options 1 cheap fix just pull head (in process now)and just pull & scrape old head gasket off and throw a new one along w/ oilpan gasket and baby around untill I get a beatdown $200 motor and forge internals. #2 do a complete stock rebuild, ring job, new bearings, blah blah (the right way)=$600 give or take a buck here or there(and add intercooler +8 psi) or #3 Sell my soul to satan and shit out 1500 for forge interals (and still ony have a intercooler & 8 psi) Well ether 600 or 1600 I dont see the myself goin futher than the 10 G Im in debt now helping me w/ my monthly bills worth it. Sorry so long I just need some opinions on what to do.(less face it I see 1 or 2 really being done)

If you are gonna rip apart the block, you might as well do it right and rebuild it with stronger internals. What kit do you have? I would look into how that line got disconnected and MAKE SURE it doesn't do it again. Good luck in whatever your choice maybe.

I just blew my headgasket as well. I spent about $3500 on labor and parts but I replaced EVERYTHING. Every belt and every pulley and even hoses are all new on my engine. I originaly thought I blew the motor so I went ahead and bought the rebuild kit. From what I have read doing a full rebuild isnt in your budget. Its gonna cost more than $1600 for the rebuild even if you do it your self. The parts and the machine shop alone is going to be $2000+. The fluids, gaskets, belts and stuff like that add up quick.

What machine shop did you go to ASSRAPERS 'R' US. machine shops cost for me is like $300 for head and bottom end you need to do the work yourself (all that can be done by a qoute unqoute pro mechanic you can do w/ basic tools)I also get dealer prices for parts. even if my old man didnt own a shop I'll still only pay $300.Dude that guy took you unless you just pulled off your head and gave him it and the bottom end w/o ripping it apart.????? well anyway Im more than likely to just pull the head check it, slap a new gasket(maybee thicker) on there, and let it be untill I can get off my walet and buy forged internals.
