Finally, after 3 weeks of collecting bits and pieces and about 11 hours of wrenching, I got to drive my car again. Feels ssooooo good. Now it's back to tuning emoji

Alright! Glad to hear she's all together again. Now, it's time to play with the Calma emoji I still haven't received the wideban O2 sensor yet; hopefully Monday. I've been playing with some different settings, but they seem to be worse than HRC's fuel maps, so I'm still using the original fuel map and the Powertuner.

I still have yet to fix my broken tranny, I am leaving for florida this week until around the 5th of july, when we get back hopefully i will have a fresh perspective and get some shit knocked out that needs to be done. Glad to hear you've got your engine back together, i know that was a real bitch to have to go through all that after being built up so well... Glad to hear its back. Are you going to the DSM shootout in July, if you are you'll be heading by me, maby we can meetup and have some road fun on the way down there emoji

Dave - Soon. I want to run the bearings in a little first.

Brian - Well, the original problem was a seized rod bearing. Nothing major, just a pain in the ass.

Kon - When did you decide to get a WB o2? Where did you get it from and How much $$?

Brad - I thought your tranny went to a shop? Do you know what is/was wrong with it? I won't be going to the shootout this year, we're going to Myrtle Beach for a week instead. Not a lot for hte family to do in Norwalk....

Greg, I've been reading the Accel DFI manual, online, and it says that we would be able to fine tune the fuel map better, and we could setup the DFI in close loop (also, this is what you had mentioned about a month or so ago when I emailed you). I think fine tuning and playing with different fuel maps--based on the wideban O2 sensor--will give a better indication as to what the engine is doing--as opposed to relying on the water temp sensor and MAP sensor alone, and running in open loop. Plus, running the DFI in closed loop, and fine tuning the fuel curve with the O2 sensor is supposed to help with better fuel mileage and, possibly better low throttle driveability.

I ordered the O2 sensor from HRC for $80. I still haven't received it though.

You did not order the wideband o2 for $80, you're getting the regular resolution o2 sensor. The Widebands are over $1000 for the kit. That's why I was surprised you said you were getting one. I looked into them a couple of months ago and decided against it for obvious reasons $$. Let me know if you guys need any help wiring that thing up, Hahn didn't send me any diagrams, and when I did get them it was a little confusing (R1 relay?, what relay?). The DFI tuning list is here:

It's been a little quiet lately, since I haven't been tuning...

You can make a cheap wideband sensor if you do it yourself. The procedure is well documented already. Check it out here -

Chris, you are my hero. I've never seen that site before, and now I know what my next *project* will be. I'll spend $200 for a WB-O2, no problem.

Greg,
I looked at that and I can help you out if you need it. I'll be busy the next month or so, but I should be free mid-July on if you wait that long to do it.
