I finally got rid of the craptech fpr and put the sfmu in. Idles fine and I'm running a little rich at WOT. When it's tuned and running 50psi at idle the adjustment screw is WAY down into the unit. It's so far down that I cant even get the retaining bolt on it. I'm running stock injectors so I'm guessing this is normal? Anyone else with the vortech have this issue?

What spring did you put in? If you put a silver one in, then you have to put the static screw way in to get the right static pressure. Sometimes you can't get enough static pressure and have to put the short dark spring in. If you have the short dark spring in and can barely get enough static fuel pressure, then that is unusual.

Well, you don't want to turn the static screw in so far that you completely compress the spring (that may damage the valve that actually controls fuel flow. If you can't put the lock nut on the screw, then you may be too far in. That means you need the dark colored spring. It is stiffer so you won't have to turn the screw in so much. You can order it from Vortech #7X100-050.

Just a follow-up..
I swapped the springs out and everything is working fine. Idles fine and holds the pressure nicely. I have at least a half inch of the adjustment screw sticking out now. Goodbye shitty cartech!
