I'm thinking bout upgrading my ignition system to a better burn. I heard that the MSD one does not work and that the Crane's better. Please help me out thanks

I have the msd programmable dis 2. i like it, the install was easy and it works very good for me especially since you can program it with the laptop.

hey dude, what's up? well i got the crane its mostly the same as the msd dis2 normal or programmable.. it's just with the crane u can only retard by boost pressure or so..the msd is by rpm or boost and you can program it if u get the more expensive unit... they are all good.. i only got it to retard some timing a little bit...

I'm looking for one that is fairly cheap..I really don't need the programability of either system because I don't have a laptop nor do I plan on dynoing the car. Would you have to tune the car via laptop/dyno in order for it to be effective? Also what other components would I need ei. blaster coil, tach pills, etc to make it work. And how much do these sytems run$? thanks alot guys

I'm not sure exactly what you heard, but it was wrong. The MSD ignitions work great with our cars. I hav epersonally installed 2 out of the 3 boxes avaiable to us(DIS HO, programable dis), adn worked with the other (standard dis) and I have even used the BTM with the dis systems. all works great, and all does it's purpose.
