What does everyone think of them. Saving money for a front mount is a long ways off, and I REALLY need some type of IC. I figure that a sidemount will have to do for now, until I can save up for a good front mount. I also figure going from a sidemount piping to a front mount piping involves very little in changing. Thanks!!!!!

Yes I have, keep in mind that piping isn't cheap. I just need to have a quick fix for now until I can get a GOOD FMIC. I'm getting a Vortech SFMU this month, that's why I'm a little short cash.

listen, go on http://www.ebay.com, or http://www.dsmtrader.com or http://www.oem-car-parts.com or http://www.carparts.com and get a 1g intercooler. i got mine for like fifty bucks on ebay, and the guy ended up living 45 minutes from me so it was real convienient. the reason i say FIRST GENERATION eclipse intercooler is because i have heard many suggestions from wise ones about NOT using a 2g intercooler on one of our custom set ups or whatever. fitment problems and such. no mine is not hooked up yet so i cant tell you anything as far as performance goes. if your wondering about placement, it goes right in front of the battery, sorta below the ecu, there shold be a bunch of room down in there. so if your looking down with the hood popped, it will go to the right of your turbo adn to the right of the engine. after cleaning my intercooler up today with a wire brush and water, i took it out to see about fitment and you might have to unbolt a few things or push stuff out of the way first but it shouldnt be hard to get it down in there and place it so the pipiing is pointint up i think, and from there you shouldnt need to much piping to have it installed. good luck, hopefully you will get some input from someone who has actually done this before.

1G is thicker than the 2G.

Well i just picked up a 1g side mount, and to me, its very similar to the Hahn side mount, but the piping on the IC is slightly different..By looking at it, you should be able to use the Hahn side mount piping, but with a little modifactaion to the piping or the IC piping..I'll let you know when i get ready to install it... Here is a pic of the 1G side mount IC..The pic shows how it will be installed in the location as the Hahn IC. Notice how the IC's piping is slightly differnt on it..Imagine the pic as if it were in the car, and this is how the piping would face..The top one will go to the TB, and the bottom to the compressor outlet..The guy who had this was running over 12 psi with this IC, with no probs at all. It should be good up to 15psi I would think..Yeah, it needs a little TLC too emoji But i got it for FREE, so i'm not complaining..

The 1G sidemount is pretty efficient. It's as big as HRC's sidemount i/c, and it's supposed to flow as good as HRC's sidemount. It's definitely worth it, and you could find one for $50-$60. HRC's intercooler that came with stage 2 is big, but the core isn't very high flowing.

The side mount needs piping too you know. The FMIC only uses about 3 more feet of piping.
