#23795, "can someone explain my fuel pressures i am getting under normal vacumm??"
Well i know my FPR is messed up, esp under boost, way too high pressures and i can't adjust them lower. My fuel pressure gauge stays a steady 50 psi at idle, but off idle, just when normal accelerating, the pressure goes up to like 80 psi at about 5 or 6 Hg's of vacumm. Is this normal? If not, what are the normal fuel pressures for vacumm from like 20 Hg's to just about 0 Hg's, befor the boost kicks in? Stock injectors, HRC cartach FPR, 5 Psi of boost.. Thanks for any help..I think i am running VERY rich at all engine speeds and vacumm readings...What do you guys think? I am getting a used S-FMU in the next week, this should fix the problem, but exactly what should my pressures be when not in boost? And what is the proper disk to use in the S-FMU? I know to use the dark color spring..Thanks for any info..

At partial throttle, you are supposed to see around 60 at 0 psi of boost(atmoshperic pressure), then 80-90 at full boost. At vac., 80 psi is way too high.

It sounds like the HRC FPR is just hosed. Don't even worry about it any more...just wait for the S-FMU. When you get the S-FMU, you can aim for 45 psi at 15 in Hg vac, 55 psi at 0 psi, and 85 psi at 6 psi. 2.72" disk and dark spring will work fine for HRC at 6 psi boost. Aim for #'s like I stated above. If 5 psi is your max boost, aim for 75-85 psi at max boost. The disk/ring stated above gives about a 5:1 ratio in real life (Vortech says 5.4:1).

Corbin thanks so much for the info! I have an update though. I took off the cartach FPR, and took it apart. There was some oil on the metal reed valve in there, and the diaphrams look real cheap too..Just looks worn out to me..Cleaned everything up with carb cleaner, put it back together, and PRESTO!!! My boosted pressure is about right on- 90 psi @ 5 psi boost. Now my static pressure is screwed Keeps fluctuating when i set it at 50 psi, ends up at 60 psi when driving and coming to a stop. Oh well, at least now i can feel the proper power from 5 psi Feels damn good too..Cant wait for the S-FMU to put in, then this stupid nonsense will be put to rest...
