HRC and Accel kick ass. A bran new DFI is on its way to me! Thanks to you guys pushing me to send it back. I was so discouraged when it blew I thought it was because I did something wrong and I didn't think they would replace such a pricey item w/o a fight. Well there was no fight at all. I sent it to HRC, they sent it to Accel and Accel said it wasn't fixable so they sent out a new one.

I asked what was wrong w/ it in the first place and Brad at HRC told me that the tech at Accel said to check for fuel pump wire polarity?????? I have no clue what that means. Any ideas?

Don't know what the fuel pump polarity thing is about, but I'm glad to hear these companies are standing behind their products and taking care of you.

make sure your + goes to your + and - to -.

in other words, make sure your pump is hooked up correctly. That would be my interpretation.

glad to hear they stood behind their product!

Yea thats what I was thinking but how would the pump even work if it was wired incorrecly, DFI or no DFI. I mean the pumps are working fine right now, why would that change w/ the DFI installed? Man I am so glad to get a new one back, but now I don't want the same thing to happen again. I don't think I had anything wired wrong but I am going to try and go over everything like 5-6 times.


What is the address for the DFI mailing list???

HRC doesnt care at all, they will get the money back from Accel. Why give you another one? Because, 1. When you think of fuel, accel wants you to think of them first. 2. The best kinds of things to make are the ones that do a VERY important job (like control fuel) but doesnt cost much to actually make. Probably cost them $200-$300 to make. Maybe less, look at the supplementry ECU that Corbin uses (and myself soon). It does pretty much the same thing but it sells for $350. Reason being is Accel is Accel and this guy is jut some guy. Just like clothing, Armani is Armani and Walmart is Walmart. Whats going to cost more when they both use only 1 kind of cotton. =] Hope you get that beast of yours running well soon. Ill be joining ya real soon, HOPEFULLY. *crosses fingers*

I'm glad to hear that HRC and Accel warranted the DFI for you. Most businesses will try not to honor any warranty on their electronic products when it's not "professionally" installed, i.e., by a shop or something. I'm not sure what that fuel pump polarity wire thing is about either.

I do not have a DFI nor have I worked with one. but he may be talking about the wires that are on the DFI side not the pump side. Or he could be speaking of the fuel system as a circut impling your pump is installed backwards. (but that would not blow the electronics so I don't know what the hell he means)
