Hey guys, Ive been checkin out this forum for about 2 weeks now, and now I finally registered, I have a star stage 1 turbo, non-intercooled, 1999 automatic eclipse, rs......
Ive had my turbo for about a whole month now, everything seems to be working and going well, but I have some worries coming up, the summer is here, and I live in Northern Cali, it gets about 90-100 degrees here, for about a good 3-4 months, will my engine hold up without an intercooler? Because I dont have the money yet for the intercooler, Im only boosting 4-5 psi, and i race my car usually on the weekends....So you guys think im safe?

I have a star stage 1 also...It can get REALLY hot under the hood w/o an intercooler!!! Like hot enough where the hood is hot to touch. When is really hot, i try not to boost it. Get an EGT gauge and watch it like a hawk! don't let it get over 1600 and it should definately last the summer.

My car made it through half a summer out here in the desert with 110+ heat. I had an intercooler put on in the middle of the summer tho. With how temps our car's will not want to boost. I had a Stage I for almost a year and yes the engine gets pretty hot and you could imagine hot much hotter it gets when that hot air is sucked in and compressed..detonation. What your temp gauge too cuz I remember when i first had my FMIC put on my shit overheated for the very first time. Not fun.
