#23490, "boost goes up no more or?"

well today i had some time to start tuning my Hi end with the afc/315 injecs so i went up to 9psi again... dame it feels nice wondering what 15psi feels like =) anyways for some odd reason sometimes i am able to get to 9psi no problem, but sometimes (most of the time) it will stay at a certain psi (fuel will go up also) then my fuel pressure and boost pressure will drop a bit? couple of psi...i check for boost leaks none, so i replaces mostly all my hrc orange guys except the elbows, and still the same thing.. now my vacuum at idle is 12-14 instead of normal 15Hg so i got to look into that tommorow... but what should i check for this boost prob?

Make a pressure tester. I think corbin has some instructions on his site. It will tell you exactly what you need to look for. Everyone with a turbo car should do this as regular maintenance.

You need a PVC cap thats about the same size as the turbo inlet. Drill a small hole in the top of the cap and put a tire valve into it and epoxy it there so it wont leak or move around. Then use one of your couplings and attach it to the turbo inlet. presureize it with a pump and listen and feel for leaks.

Here is a picture of my pressure tester... Its just a 2'' piece of pvc pipe with threads on the inside, and a 2'' cap to fit it, which I used teflon paste really think just in case... and drilled a hole and installed a fitting for my air compressor. Havent got a chance to use it yet till the tranny gets fixed and back in, but you get the general idea. Greg has a pic of his, he used a valve stem from a tire shop on his, I would have probably done that but i didnt have one laying around.
