#23139, "programable dis2 not reading boost right"
well i've been tunning my car for the last month or so, and finially got the fuel worked out. But somthing was still off. i was getting really hight egt's which i first thought were from running rich. But i also noticed a loss of power over my orginal stage 2 setup. So today i did a short half run with the dis pluged into my laptop, and guess what.... i had set the boost control part to retard 2 deg at 12psi (i have a 3bar map sensor form msd) i noticed that at idle it was reading 6psi, then when i get on it and hit 0 vac/boost the msd was reading 15psi and retarding the crap out of it. so i adjusted it and WOW a huge difference. not i have it set to retard about 2-3 deg by 23-27 psi. anyone else notice this??? i plan on calling msd tuesday and seeing why this happens

MSD prodata (along with most other data aquisition software.....including OBD-2 loggers) read display map sensor output as atmospheric pressure (normal atmospheric pressure is usu about 29.5 inches of mercury (in hg) or in laymans terms 14.75 psi. Usu the morning news will tell you what atmospheric pressure is that day or night. they measure it with a "barometer" and it is usu. measured in inches of mercury (that is what that 29.3 and up arrow means on the weather forcast). so to make a long story short, 14.75 or to round up 15 psi atmospheric (what is displayed on your gauge on th epro-data software) is 0 psi on your boost gauge. 6 psi atmospheric is about -8 psi or -16 inches of mercury on yrou boost gauge. it shoudl have had a brief explination in the owners manual.....something like "boost reading in atmospheric pressure" or something subtle like that. that is why your adjustment graph goes to 45 psi (or 3 bar). that is 30 psi of boost.
