#23132, "What is that hole for ??"

Well almost done, Oil presure switch and running the vacumm lines is all that is left, only one question.......
There is a hole on the intake side of the turbo Underneth the Turbonetics logo, and it is threaded, but i can't figure out for the life of me what it is for..
We are just about out of beer, and i don't think either of our hands can take anymore cuts or burns (yeah don't ask that is a long story in itself).
Thanks guys again for all the help on this install..

-Danny

that sounds like the whole for the little vaccum nipple fitting. it should sccrew into the turbo housing, and have a nipple on the outher end for the vac line that goes to the wastegate nipple. (the one on the wastegate should look the same as the one for the turbo side)

erm that is the hole with threads for an fitting. You suppose to put a AN fitting that has a vacuum nipple on it and route it to the external wastegate. What that port does is show how much pressure the compressor is putting out.

Well guys my kit is absent the an fitting for the vacumm so i used one i had in the garage, and hooked that one up to my boost gauge, and the wastegate is ran off of the throttle body vaccum line, and all seems to be running well, except the nasty noise that the wastegate makes when dumping to the atmosphere, looks like i will either be taking a trip to the muffler shop, or doing the welding of a flange on the downpipe myself.
once i figure out how to use pictures as a signature or enter em in like you all i will have a collage of my car (sad when a software engineer cant figure that out quickly).
thanks again for all the input from all of you guys on the board that helped put in my star stage 2 kit. emoji

I suggest you move the boost gauge vacuum line from the compressor and tap it into the manifold, and just plug the hole in the compressor.
As you have it set now you are reading the pressure in the compressor (which if you have an intercooler) is not the same as the pressure going into the engine.

Good thinking, but i am also curious if there is somewhere like Hoseman where i can get vaccum hose that can stand lotsa heat, the hose that goes to my wastegate gets really really hot.. and i don't want to get a vaccum leak 30 miles from home, like my work..

You might want to look at roadraceengineering.com for some new vacuum lines. They have lots of colors and sizes. goodluck, justin
