This is my first post and I being think about getting a turbo for my 96 eclipse rs. I was wondering if a fuel pump, super- afc and some 625cc injectors be able to support 15 pounds of boost. The reason I ask is because I was think about buying a hrc stage2, and adding the injectors and the super afc and raising to boost to 15 pounds. Do you think this would work?

Not a chance. A stock 420A won't take 15lbs of boost.

An SAFC doesn't give enough control over the pulsewidth to make your car idle with a 625cc/min injector, either.

What part of Texas ya from, Vic?

Oh sh*t!!! I forget to mention.
My engine died on me 2 weeks ago. So I going to build it, and was think I could install the turbo when it is out of the car. To make it easier. DO you think this homemade stage idea would work.

With a built engine, you can run 15 psi with injectors and and ignition with timing retard.

With 8.8:1 compression on forged pistons, you cn run 15psi with no timing retard. I do it daily on my STAR-powered GS.

If you have a fully adjustable fuel pressure regulator and can lower the idle fuel pressure, 550cc/min are possible with an SAFC. You may still idle rich, however.

This is the safe way, I wouldn't recommend anything else but some people use thicker headgaskets to increase the boost on stock internals.

cool, thanks everyone for the help.

But, i still confused on one thing. Will the stage 2 hrc kit fuel system, support 15 pounds of boost.
I guess what im really asking is there a cheaper way to upgrade to stage 3 without having to buy a stage3 emoji

...on my built engine my compression is about the same. From the Low CR pistons and milled head my result is almost 9.5:1 and I need retard for anything above 13lbs. I don't think many people know that porting drops compression as well.

How many points does porting drop the compression down?
